    Hmm, if under the rear seat is hollow, Perhaps a sub can go there. But that's a discussion on another thread.

    [This is PilotChris, but my account somehow disappeared along with all my previous posts, so I'm posting under this new account for now...]

    My Sirius receiver arrived today from the same vendor Rick used! I couldn't wait to get home and do the install.

    In a nutshell, I didn't have time to complete the install today but the receiver IS working. I completed the dash disassembly with only a few problems (lost a clip, and couldn't figure out where to replace a big piece of felt, presumably there to prevent squeeking noise!). I routed the Sirius cable from the radio, down the passenger side doorsill to the rear seat where I had originally planned on following Rick's lead and mounting the receiver.

    However, I couldn't find a suitable surface to mount the receiver to. The bottom of that under-seat cavity seems to go directly to the outside of the car (note all the weatherproofing grommets in that area), so I was hesitant to drill mounting screws into the sheet metal. I would have liked to mount to the underside of the black bracket, but couldn't find a suitably flat section.

    As rick noted, the cable was too short to route all the way back to the "normal" XM installation location, so because it was getting dark I just routed it to the hatch area and have my Sirius receiver and antenna under my cargo net. :)

    I'm not really sure how I'm going to finish this up. Rick, can you explain how you secured the receiver under the seat? If that doesn't work out for me, I'll probably fabricate an extension for the Sirius cable and mount it where the XM receiver mounts on the inside of the rear quarter panel.

    I didn't mount the tunner. I wrapped it in a piece of rubber so it would not slide and then put it under the black metal section. I had to position it a couple of times so that the metal piece fit without stressing the tunner. Anyway after screwing down the black bracket the tunner is snug and doesn't move easily. This also has the advantage of not having any holes should someday I decide to remove it. Have fun, RIck

    I'm about ready to try this. Danny, should I wait on a group buy, or should I just take the plunge at my local dealership?

    Don't mean to steal everyone's thunder here... just wanted to show you my set up. I just couldn't wait for OEM Sirius unit!!!

    Closed --> Open.

    I connect the sirius starmate receiver to the stereo via tape adapter. Not much of "coolness" factor, but it is a cheaper set-up.

    Cheers,

    Kazu.
