If they had hit the 200k limit last quarter, I think we would heard so by now.

 

...... & if they haven't yet hit 200K ... it may mean their plugins aren't flying off the shelves compared to at least one other manufacturer

idk any phev's that have though, it's not a popular technology

 

To this day nobody can explain a PHEV to a layperson

Those that have had them love them (at least in the us)

However, Toyota, I get the strong indication sells them like a compliance vehicle, wanting them to sell into specific markets over others and there are definite constraints

 

I have never had any trouble explaining the basics of a PHEV to a layperson.
In my experience, more laypeople have more trouble with the concept of a BEV than a PHEV.

 

Elected officials often do not understand...for example, the Pacifica is a PHEV but they it call a hybrid instead of plug-in hybrid.

you still may have time to get a RAV4Prime+tax credit?

 

i'm interested, but content to wait until the shortage is over. if they ever start giving them away like the prime, even better.

The automaker expects that sometime before the end of June it will reach a 200,000-vehicle cap on the credits.

 

Maybe that will force the Stealerships to knock off the ridiculous $5K- $10K markups

Trying to remember the rebate rules, but maybe slowing the new EV sales due to the wheel fall-off recall (yikes) could get Toyota to July which buys them another quarter? Not sure

 

too little, too late. hopefully, congress comes up with a round of better incentives
