Just a quick follow up. My friend is going the Green Bean route with his Highlander. Toyota gave him the middle finger. He said he plans to drive it into the ground. I think the Highlander packs are $2500 and the Prius are $1575 through green bean. They have an A+ BBB rating and provide a lifetime warranty. If he sells his Highlander the warranty is transferrable. If the repacked batteries fail, they put in another pack without charge for the lifetime of the vehicle. I know this may be not the optimal solution. I know most here are DIY'er and long time hybrid owners who have seen it all over the years. Hopefully this solution works out for him. I will say the Highlander is a great vehicle and his has most if not all the bells and whistles.
Congrats on deciding on a solution... I remember texting with this person and was reluctant to drive up their to pull the pack to work on it due to it being a much larger than normal Prius size pack and not having a loaner pack for it, as well as most of my spare parts wouldn't be too helpful with that particular vehicle.
If someone creates a green bean thread. I will give updates on how well the hybrid battery is doing for my friend over the years. He had it installed in the last couple of days.
