    Because SUVs make more money (see HR-V and the upcoming C-HR.. whatever the final name is).

    That and a 7 seater (more likely 6 seater if it was certified for U.S. consumption) with a 1.5 litre engine will not work well on the highway. Then there's the American expectation that a vehicle will carry both stated passenger and cargo capacity at the same time (like minivans and SUVs). Compared to Asia or Europe where you can have a vehicle that carries 4 or 5 ppl and luggage OR 6-7 passengers with no luggage (lunch or dinner out on the town). Hence the multi-purpose vehicle or MPV moniker.

    Would be great if they sold this in the US. I'd love a hybrid sienna.
