I too have this problem on my 2010 Prius. I contacted Toyota Headquarters USA and had this issue documented. They told me the CSP - ZKG does not cover Prius because it is VIN specific, but if enough white Prius owners voiced their concerns then Toyota might one day send a letter to us extending the ZKG program to include Prius. Quite irate at Toyota for this. Hurts more because I used to work for a Lexus dealership and my family is a Toyota/Lexus fan for life until this left me bitter.

If you have a Blizzard Pearl/Super White Prius with peeling paint condition, please voice your opinion to headquarters to have this documented.

2010 Blizzard white pearl. Started a few years ago, Toyota has refused to assist consistently. How embarrassing. For the us drivers and Toyota as a company.

I have a 2010 Prius with the peeling blizzard pearl bullshit paint. I called Toyota “customer experience” they are useless and won’t help. They filed the report and told me to pay for the paint myself. I called the corporate number and received a call back from the same “customer experience” got the same run around. Clearly tons of these Prius are having the same paint issue. Is anyone interested in a class action lawsuit? Or maybe contacting the media to put a spot light on Toyota? Clearly they will ignore us until they are forced to do something. Or we can all call the corporate number Every day and harass them to death. Let’s organize people instead of complaining and letting Toyota screw us. I have a 20 year old car with better paint than my 2010 prius. Can’t even wash the car or paint flies off everywhere!!!!!

Let’s all get together and call the media, the more light we shine on them the better chance we have of getting fixed!

They won’t tell you a damn thing, I asked all those questions. They say the department that deals with recalls cannot be contacted. Convenient..

Mine is looking just like yours minus the roof. Every panel is peeling. Let’s harass Toyota, call your local news

The dealer didn’t want to formally document it, Toyota is determined to not help us. Call your local news , if everyone does it we have a chance

IIRC Toyota has acknowledged a problem with Blizzard Pearl on some of their vehicles, but not with 3rd gen Prius?

I see from the poll 10 say say their's peeling and 12 are ok. That's not very good, lol.

How about park in front a dealership with sign. The car's a good visual aid.

    Obvious problem/defect
Toyota deep pockets; lots of cash
Huge number of cars/people affected -- you could even call them a "class" of people.
Toyota has already half admitted the problem, just not for Prius.

    Gee, who could you call?

(Ghostbusters is not the right answer)

Everyone was supposed to vote for peeling. Toyota will use this poll for real life data to prove that this isn't an issue for all blizzard people. We have to collude together like the Russians & the U.S.

We have a Blizzard Pearl 2012 Prius v ( wagon ). No issues as of yet..and I don't really foresee any. Personally, I really like the color! (y)

Edit : Appears to mostly be a 2010 issue?

Edit #2 : I guess I had already responded to the thread way back when. Something did seem familiar about it.

Still no resolution from Toyota. I have a case number and I emailed pictures of my Prius showing the Blizzard Pearl paint peeling off in sheets. Their response is the same that my VIN is 'not included in the recall at this time'. I told them that I cannot even sell the car without taking a substantial financial loss and would have to pursue Toyota for it. They said they would escalate the case to a Supervisor but I am not holding my breath!

Has anuone else gotten any support on this issue from Toyota? They keep mentioning the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty but I reiterate to them that the other models recalled state 'regardless of mileage' and offer to repaint the car at Toyota's expense.

I hope they help you, but I doubt they will.
Unless they can get enough people complaining, like to tv stations?????

They haven't helped with the EGR defect. I don't have a great feeling about paint.

I know, not enough people have complained.
Sadly, you just can't get enough people together to do anything about it.

Maybe you'll be the first one though! (y)

We’re all on netflux and that keeps us away from mass complaints. No wonder toyota never heard of egr clogging issues

People are starting to call my work car "Patches."
I'm thinking that my boss will take pity on me and put me in for a new truck, but I'm afraid to complain too much about it since the last technician that retired drove a Ford Transit van.

....I'd rather drive a calico Prius for now.

Park outside a dealership when you’ve got nothing else on, prominently… :sneaky:

    I'm selling this car.

Is it realistic to have someone touch up the peeling paint with decent results?

    (Thanks, Toyota)

it's too badly damaged to be touched up. Too many areas affected. Need a good paint job

    It's just gonna keep peeling.
Honestly I'd sell it AIWI for a fair price, otherwise with this particular car you're just trying to cover-up a known defect....not unlike putting heavier oil to disguise a knock or steam cleaning the engine compartment to hide the evidence of an oil leak.

My 2010 Prius just started peeling a couple of months back... Roof and Driver side door.
