With Gen 4 hsd, would be nice if it is rated: combined of 40 mpg.

Nissan Juke meets CR-Z is what first strikes my eyes...Maybe some CX-5 side action as well.

C-segment Crossover, so NOT the competitor of the Juke but of the Qashqai.

That isn't available in the US. It and the Juke are also very close in size.

Mpg predictions? I'm hoping close to Gen 3 Prius but with AWD.

With TGNA, hoping it will handle like a car.

A lot to look forward to.

The front and side don't look half bad. But that rear is meh. At least it looks like you can see out the back slightly better than the concept version.

You're right. The difference appears to be in the cargo space. The Rouge is bigger than the Qashqai, and is a competitor to the Rav4. WHich leaves the Juke for the American press to use as comparison.

I'm thinking Gen 2 numbers. It has to be better than the Gen 1 (41mpg was it? 2008 rating adjusted)

This makes sense, 1.8L for the hybrid and 1.2 for turbo.

    Merged.

Okay yes I may have been a bit too optimistic. One can wish :)

no, it is not in the boot space. This is one size larger than Juke, it is same size as Tiguan, with slightly larger wheelbase.
Its wheelbase is only a tiny fraction smaller than Rav4's. It is based on C segment vehicle, like Tiguan.

Juke, Renegade and 500x as well as European Captour, CX-3 are another step down from C-HR and are based on B class vehicles, which means cheaper build, interior, suspension, engines, equipment and price.

I assume that in the future, Toyota will also offer Yaris based SUV, that will actually compete with those above.

    Merged.

If the wheelbase ends up being 2700mm, it is actually bigger than Rav4's, with a lot smaller overhangs - so smaller trunk. C-HR Concept 2's wheelbase was 2640mm if I remember correctly.

As to MPG, early 40's I would guess. We will know soon since Toyota might release info at Geneva and car will go in production in 4-5 max months at new line in Turkey. Turkey plant expects to produce around 12k in 2016, which means sales will start in October or November in most of Europe.

Now since exterior looks great, lets see the interior. Since this is C class SUV, it will not be that much cheaper than Rav4. It will be more cheaper in Europe since this is produced in Turkey, and there wont be 10% customs charge for EU countries.

I actually expect hybrid to closely align with Prius G4 in Europe. It might depend on the country, but Prius G4 ends where Rav4 hybrid starts and thats what is likely going to happen with this thing as well. It also makes it in between Auris Hybrid and Rav4 hybrid which is where it should be.

Now of course, there will be at least 1.2t and likely some diesel as well and those will be cheaper than hybrid options. So far nobody wrote a single bit anywhere about the diesel but it should be either 1.4 D4D or BMW's 1.6d but maybe both as well. Since it is produced locally it might end up with plenty of options.

But the US market isn't presented in the letter class system, and better or worse, the cars trend bigger. Any SUV that is smaller than the Rav4/Escape/Rouge/CRV will be labeled a cute-ute and be compared with the other smaller SUVs regardless of were it stands as a size class. If or when the US small SUV expands to the options available Europe, the C-HR will be probably compared to like sized models, but until then the press and buyers will be comparing it to the Juke, Renegade, HRV, and CX-3 here.

You know it is bigger. I know it is bigger. For those looking at small SUVs in America, there simply isn't a large enough representation of these cars for such differentiation. There is no Qashqai here. It is the Juke or the Rouge. If a person is looking at the Rouge, they are likely looking at the Rav4, not the C-HR.

Actually the CHR looks great and that is coming from a Prius Gen 3 owner of 6+ years. BTW there is a separate thread running here for the CHR. Toyota C-HR | PriusChat would suggest we merge these two threads.

This is going to be much more refined than Prius Gen 4 and will probably get AWD as well, what more can you ask. mpg wise not going to be great but will probably end up a class leader in its own right.
