Toyota 0 X 20 oil

I used the Frantz (toilet paper) bypass system 40 years ago.

 

Thanks for the other link. Sounds too expensive, as much as a regular oil change for each filter. I would also like to see independent data.

 

I have been using 0W20 on my Gen 1 for years, no issues at all! Just buy Mobil 1 0W20 or buy AMSOIL 0W20 100% Synthetic (I use this!) and you will get a slight improvement in highway fuel economy I have found. Oh and my car has about 150,000 kms.

Heck I used to use AMSOIL 0W20 in my 1995 Geo Metro since day one until I got rid of it with 276,000 kms! The next owner was astounded how smooth it ran for an engine that high a mileage! That was an amazing car! I hope Prius will last as long!

 

I'm sold on using Mobil 1 0W-40 in my FJ. No difference in fuel economy compared to various xW-20 and xW-30 oils. Last summer, I had to drive my dad down to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN quite a few times, due to a health problem he was having

I put on a bit over 7,500 miles on the oil. That fall, when I changed the oil and sent a sample off, the results came back barely even used. Good for a LOT more miles

That 0W-40 is indeed a well made oil
