Is anybody towing with their C? I have a lightweight trailer that I use for trips to the dump, picking up appliances and moving odd shaped stuff... nothing too heavy.

    Anybody?

No, but I've debated buying a small harbor freight trailer for similar things, and camping. Make it into a cargo/bike carrier with racks or a way to lock bikes for road trips. I'm waiting for a plug n play wiring harness so I don't have to splice and make it obvious for toyota.

Amazon has a harness listed for the C. It is like 50 bux though. When I do mine I will go to Autozone and get one that will make things work right. That is how I did the one on our Vibe. 20 bux or so I think.

Posted this over in the V forums and thought you C owners might appreciate the heads up too. there's a sale this week on the stealth ecohitch for $25 off. Check out the Gen II/III and V threads and you can see some quotes from other owners who already picked up the ecohitch. The retailer site has photos/videos how to install on all the prii models and it appears to be a DIY job (though I think it will help to have ramps or jack stands). Some even posted photos how to paint it that I plan to follow when mine arrives for my V. This week you can use the promo code "Pluginday2012" and you can get it for $225 shipped.

That's a good deal. My hitch worked flawlessly for a luggage rack all the way down route 66. had 100-150lbs on it throughout the trip. All together we were over the weight limit for the car and rear wheels were well inside the wells but no harm done on a 7k+ mi trip.

Hi everyone..I have a trailer hitch and carrier that I purchased from etrailler made for the C. Drove from NJ to Delray Beach Fla (trip 1300 miles)..Had a few hundred pounds in the basket. No trouble at all just a little low to the ground that was it.. hopefully that will help some of you...It was very easy to install and directions was clear on how to do it...
from NJ to Fla mpg 47 with basket full 47 without it..I thought the mpg would be a heel of a lot better Mileage on car now 13,000 purchased 4/2012
starting of the trip aprox 8600 miles.

I bought my Prius C in the beginning of the summer and before I had it - I had already ordered this hitch from TorkLift Central - it was easy to mount, just bolts. My husband and I had it on in 30 mins. It was a little costly - but Thule is not coming up with a hitch or a roof mount for a while (he manages a bike shop and called them).

I have taken my Prius from Florida to Tennesse and all the way to the Keys hauling my road bike.s I love that hitch, it is nicer than the one on my Element.

It was a dealer on ebay selling the hitches. There are more. Just type it in the search. I have not bought mine yet but plan to soon.

I also though the hitch is 45lbs like written on the site but that's for shipping purposes. It really weights 27lbs.

I'm getting all the good stuff to tow my PWC soon.

After much research the Torklift was the best one with the highest quality welds and finish.
