Sounds to me like Toyota is a lot more on the ball than Nissan! The OP tried to place an internet order and it didn't take, so he went to his dealer, who fixed it up so he's getting a car. Nissan lost my order, put it back at the tail end of the line months later, then lost the car, then re-assigned me a car and posted the VIN on their web site under my name, then took that car away and assigned me another, then parked that car in Long Beach and for a month kept telling me it was just "waiting for transport" and refused to tell me how the several needed repairs had been done, whether the car was under cover or exposed to the weather, or whether the batteries were being properly cared for. And time after time, their promised ship dates passed without action and they would not tell me why. Toward the end I lost my temper, but that was after they had made it clear they were not going to do anything or provide any information. My dealer was as much in the dark throughout as I was. I finally bought a Tesla instead.

Toyota really sounds like they're on the ball, especially Dianne and Erica.

BTW, I'll guess that Dianne's other car is a Tesla Roadster. Pure EV for the HOV lane, plenty of range, fun to drive, California-made (except for the frame), convertible.

Natalie: You are rational, sensible, and intelligent, which is why you cannot understand the irrational but very human impatience to get a new toy once fixated on it. When I read the first reviews of the 2004 Prius, in November of 2003, I went right down and test-drove it. It took me a week to decide to buy it, to replace my perfectly good 1989 Honda Civic, but once I had decided, I was practically insane with impatience to get it. On the rational side, the Prius had some safety features that the Civic did not have (ABS, VSC, and air bags) but I was just impatient to drive this new technology, which was actually capable of driving short distances on pure EV without running the gas engine.

I think Toyota would have forgiven her for buying a Tesla. At least until the RAV4EV comes out.

A hundred thou on a car?
    Never.
Even if I win the LOTTO, I'd never spend 100K on a car. I covered my eyes and signed when I bought my Lexus 400h a few years back - that was over 50K at the time, but it was a lease so I was more focsed on lease payments.
    Not a Tesla Girl!!
