    approaching 4 mos : 3333 EV 89% 3 pips left = couple gallons?
PiP came gassed up but with 20miles and a gallon down on the reading

Wonder if PA Prius can tell me why my PiP isn't worth the $premium$ ;-)
my "premium" was $1k as I stole the Toyota incentives and fully plan on stealing $2500 from the gvt come tax time...

Yes it includes losses from the. My typical loss is 19% (likely higher than Prius since it includes power for cooling/heating battery while charging (I'd guess the raw charging loss is closer to 15%). For me a full charge, measured by a kill-a-watt, averages 12.9kWh. I measured it first time for two days, then again for a week so I could compare to myVolt and found the total varied by only .1 kWh over the week). The OnStart data tracks the usages from TMS as well as charging, which I can see when I go away for a week in hot weather (like I did for that measurement. it used almost .5kWh over the week just for TMS, i.e. after being fully charged it had multiple smaller cycles which totaled .5kWh).

Don't think I am doing the math properly. Would someone help me on this? Attached is my lifetime EV/HV ratio screen

That is about 83 MPGe. The 1570 kh is equivalent to 46.58 Gallons using 33.7 kWh/gallon (EPA) (0r 46.04 using 34.1kWh/gallon which is a pure gas formula)
Since the car truncates gas you are between
    16048 / 193.58 = 82.9 MPGe
    and
    16048/194.58 = 82.47 MPGe

You didn't figure in the 15% wall to car differential that we are using.

    My bad..

    Then its 80MPGe.. 1507*1.15 = 1805/33.7 = 53.5 Gas equiv. so 16408 / 200.5 = 80MPGe.

Just change the title to "Top 20 MPGe" ;)

It is getting competitive. To get into top 5, you need 100+ MPGe. With the amount of traffic lights over here, it will be hard for me to beat my current figure, unless I can increase my EV ratio.

Ya, for a while anyway it's going to be all about the EV ratio. Then once everyone has really high EV ratios it will be a little more about how efficient your driving is.

IMO, at least for the PIP, 19% is way too high. ~6 months ago I did some careful measurements of every charge for 1 week and found 9-10% losses when using an L2 ChargePoint (for ~8 of 10 charges). For an L1 charge it was 2-3 % more losses. I measured and compared 3 different watt meters for the L1. Since my last set of tests were in Winter, I'll probably do it again in a few weeks when I'll have a full week of normal trips.

And BTW, it doesn't make any difference on "the official ranking," since it is the same for everybody, but the formula being used is using a ~13% loss, not 15%...since it is multiplying by 1.15. To get a true 15% loss you would have to divide by 0.85.

Still not sure I understand MPGe correctly...but here is my ratio screen for lifetime of car to date.

    Thanks Markabele!

Thanks! and thanks for this great thread and helping me understand the MPGe factor.

Im hoping my JULY month is much higher as Im on track for best month ever. But for now im only at 370 miles for this month, ugh.

Can you update the equation so it is dividing by 0.85 (instead of multiplying by 1.15)?
