sorry I'm not following - and of course 80+ would be high

at 53 HV miles the PiP said 0 gallons used - The Formula says 1/2 gallon in that situation.
What I'm saying is we all know at 53 miles its pretty darn close to a full gallon

go one more mile and the PiP says 1.0 gallons, Formula then says use 1.5 gallons...
nothing has really changed, its still pretty much one gallon

3Prius Mike spelled out the readout problem well

I'm totally onboard with what Mike says. Again, there is no way around it. Gallons of gas saved does not help us. At least from what I can tell.

I'm referencing the picture you posted that had me update your latest entry on this Top 20 list. It said you've gone about 90 miles in HV, but you said it should be closer to 1 gallon not 1.5, at least I thought that's what you said.

    no, no
when I said "closer to 1 gallon" I meant when I hit 54 miles HV
at that point the PiP went from 0 to 1 gallon - so the formula then said we had to use 1.5 gallons...

there's no prize $, no worries I was just pointing out a flaw and better way that didn't require an extra pic
printing a pic of a fill-up doesn't work anyway - who's to say it was completely filled

But I don't think you can tell anything from the fuel saved number. Show me a proven formula of how to figure the gallons more exactly with that number and I would gladly use it.

For me, the "estimated gallon saved" is calculated based on my lifetime HV MPG.

I'm at 30 something HV miles...but I have to use some HV miles today. But, as per the formula...10 or 15 is better than 3 or 4. I should top 1000 miles in a day or two.

I can't imagine anyone approaching this. There were times I thought I could get close to your 162 ? MPGe but this read is something I haven't gotten close to for even a day
    Heck 6.45 miles / kwh ?!
when I did repeat miles on our flat campus at 18mpg I got in 24 miles EV and only then did I get similar

Here are my summer results...much better than my winter numbers.
I think this is worthy of a new 1000 mpg club!

I think you get to be the founder and President of the 1000 mpg club.
    I can be VP.

    Updated!

    Incredible number, Mike! Congrats!

And I totally agree on the 999+ MPG club. Should it be over a minimum of 500 miles? Or 1000?
