Dear F8L, Here is an update of my record (#519). This is my second purchase of gas to my Prius since I acquired the Prius on this April 2013; 10.1 gal was needed to make my tank full after this (= 69.7 mpg actual). Can you please update my record in the list? I changed my commuting route to omit the freeway and reduce hill up/down, which improved mpg ~10% but lowered mph ~10%. May 3-May 27 2013, 60-85 degF, 10% rain, tire pressure 35psi for all. Also, can I be a member of your 700 miles club (if it still exists)? My fuel alert began to blink at 666 miles. I will have to make a long drive interstate so won’t get >70 mpg for the next tank. I admire Vas25tl’s huge effort for 60mpg/60mph (#516) but won’t be such patient (#533)………
Great Job! Do you have many lights in your commute? Pump up your tires and you will do even better. I run 42/40 (F/R).
I would love to update your position but you see, you would be knocking me further down the list and well, I am in control of the list so...... Kidding! Congrats on such a remarkable tank!!! You are moving up from #19 to #10!
Had to check my specs as I was worried I might get bumped down and forced to drive like Jed Clampett for another 700 miles again.
You better start now. There is a new #1 if he decides to post in this thread! You only need 500 miles though. lol
Drats... Looks like the North Americans are surging back up with the warmer climate.. F8L, can you also update my ranking here with my mpg from the 800-mile thread? 808.7 miles @ 70.21 mpg. At least that should push me up a few spots for the moment.
By the looks of the numbers rolling in I think they have been plotting all winter. I think you are safe for awhile.
Thank you for the comment and suggestion. My commute (15-16 miles) contains traffic signal lights for every 1000-2000 feet, i.e., ~60 lights.
Thank you. I got only 20 mph this time so it would be practical limit for my daily routine. I will try it again though when I was pushed out from the list....
You have room to grow. You will get even better as time goes by. Your spot in the Top 20 is secure for now so rest easy.
Isn't May in Canada like February in the lower 48? Seriously though, almost 40 mpg is very low! My lowest all winter was 47 mpg. BTW - I just took my lower grill blocking off about 10 days ago.
Only 4 spots below 70 mpg. Those should be gone shortly. I'm guessing 72 mpg will probably get you 20th place by the end of the summer.
