I am new to this, what setup do you have to do in order to display the above HSI with data on the miles, Cons. and AVG. ?

    Thanks!

That is just the OEM Trip A/B display. The 2012-2013 models have a new "recent trip summary" screen that appears when you turn off the car but you cannot recall it.

So I am back on 15" wheels. By summer the tread will be worn down enough to be competitive. You Southern Hemisphere chaps better up your game while the weather is nice. ;)

F8L, have a look at my last fill-up (2012-12-14) on my Fuelly page. You can see how the new tyres fitted during October influenced the fuel consumption but that seems to be taken care of. The weather also looks to be playing along. Hopefully I will be able to reach somewhere near the top 10 on this list and maybe even the 800 mile club.(y)

What tickles me is that this is not the first time that the MFD displays around 4 l/100km (~59 mpg) and then the consumption according to the amount of fuel that can be put into the tank is around 3.4 l/100km (~69 mpg). This has happened with both our Prii and at different fuel stations.

It took me a second to remember that the graph going down is a good thing when using L/100km. LOL

Good job! Keep it up and you'll get your spot in the top 10 and hold it at least until summer comes along for us northern folks. :)

Game on, bro! Excellent work on that last tank! It puzzles me a bit though that it looks like GenIIs have a conservative MFD readout than GenIIIs. I've observed that mine is about 1.5% conservative than on the reading on my SGII.

Indeed. The average discrepancy between MFD and hand calculations for the GenII is about 2% over a large number of tanks. The GenIII averages about 5%-6% optimistic.

    Okay, hi howdy do,
My name is Steve and I have a Gen II entry if I can figure how to get the picture appended. I'm new to both my Prius And this iPhone 5 so don't expect any lightning quick responses! image.jpg
My original 2 posts were in Gen2 forum under beat the EPA but F8L kindly pointed me here and I've devoured all 20 plus pages for some good info and fun reading. Pictured is my current tank - and I'll refill after I hit 600 miles cause I'm blinking now! My car has about 68k miles on it rolling on Goodyear Vivas p185/65r15 kept at 44psi front 42 back. I live in Orlando and I think the weather, my time of commute 11am and 830pm and the fact I try to Only commute with this car all contribute to my mpg which has me happily amazed. More details can be read in the aforementioned posts if you're curious. I don't think I'm finished wringing all I can out of my blue beauty, but eventually I will have to run the A/C again! I try new wrinkles all the time, the latest of which is accelerating a lot harder off of lights up to cruise and feathering as others have so eloquently put it. I'm a right lane guy for sure but don't hold anyone up behind me and pass someone only rarely. Still finding my cars sweet spots of which there are plenty!

Welcome to the forum and the list!

Your stellar number pups you solidly into 13th place! You also bumped dhanson865 off the list. Selzier is now #20. Can he hold that position or will he be bumped soon? :p

I don't think anything below 65 mpg will have any chance of staying on the list. Once you've hypermiled, it is hard to go back to "normal" driving. 55-58 mpg is normal driving for me. A little effort can boost that easily to 65 mpg+. People in colder climates or hilly terrain will have a harder time doing this.

Did I post to this? I don't see my 72.2 listed in the top 20 so I'm guessing not.
    So here's my submission.

    Yes, so it seems.

Steve's Gen2 FE results of 67 mpg/587 miles - matches results reported on Cleanmpg.com - that the Gen2 when hypermiled can match or beat a Gen3 Liftback(with the help of a ScangaugeII - which most elite/expert hypermiler have)

Only because we needed you to post a picture as per the rules. I did add you to the other mileage clubs though. :)

You have knocked me down the list too. :(

Maybe I should add a section at the bottom of the first post recognizing the valiant efforts of members who were bumped out of the top 20. Just a randomized list on names with no numbers. What do you think?

Still rank them according to MPG but no rank number. :)
