Wow Amped - that's pretty hardcore. You must drive through some bad neighborhoods.

I guess I could use the umbrella to ward off potential attackers, but I'd rather just let them have the car.

Tideland Prius - the turtle is a CD case and keeps them handy. I got it at the dealership where I bought the car. I've never seen it anywhere else.

Since I don't have any kids to transport, I don't have rocks, dead bugs, or plastic objects crammed in there (yet) :)

My last car had all kinds of electronic junk for work in the trunk and backseat. I've gotten rid of most of that now, so I'm trying to keep this car pristine. We'll see how long that lasts.

My hidden drawer is also empty. If I put stuff in there I'd probably forget about it since I never use it.

I like the microfiber towel idea - the display always seems to get mucked up with fingerprints.

I peeked in my center console this morning to see what I overlooked by memory and I am kicking myself over forgetting a quintessential Canadian item - a wad of Canadian Tire money folded and wedged in the front slot of the console!

All Canadians have Canadian Tire money lurking somewhere. ;)

Not much in my console, except for an adapter, for that just-in-case time...maybe for a passenger with a laptop that is low on battery (which is unlikely), or for a passenger that needs to "eat-on-the-run" and brings his/her own microwave (which is more unlikely). Otherwise, the CD's are in the glove compartment, a small case of tissues in the upper glove compartment, the umbrella and maps are in the side door compartment, a set of plastic cups in the passenger side door compartment, the cell phone in one cup holder, a water bottle in the other. So, I guess for now, the center console is of no real use for me.

    • An electric compressor for keeping the tires topped up (it just fits)
    • A small (12w) 120v inverter (for laptop, cell-phone charger etc.)
    • Assorted pens, small notebook (for recording gas purchases), tire-pressure gauge
    • Hand-held GPS and assorted trinkets (for geocaching)
EDIT: My wife says that since she has a blue Prius, she as a "brick" in hers (reference to Showtime's "Weeds")

Window wipes ( for the fingerprints my DD leaves.)
absorbent wipes (Just in case my daughter blow yodels )
Fabric stain remover wipes (In the event of any mud or if someone hurles )
I guess you could say I am ready just in case.
After all they killed the interior of my last car.
That's why they are not allowed to:

    Eat anything
    Drink anything
    Drool
    Burp
    Pass wind
    sneeze
    cough
    spit
    Touch the headliner
    Touch the windows
Touch the seats ( with grubby little hands , feet or dirty toys)
    Breathe
    Play with head rest
    Use the cup holders
    play with cup holders
    press lips to windows
    lick windows
Touch or play with arm rest
    Remove shoes
    No mouth noises
    No picking boogers
No blow yodeling hurling or spewing chuncks

Hmmm can't think of all my rules there are a few more but I can't think of them right this minute. <_<

I just wub my prius!

-Tons of CD without cases and cases without Cds (some missing)
-flashlight which I forget most the time is there
    -tissue paper
-Some car deodorizer which smells nasty
    -spare coins
    -pencil
    -radar detector
    -random receipts
    -screwdriver
-that funky black holder thingy which is supposed to be used in the console????
I can't remember anymore without tearing everything out. I think I need to toss some things.

Let me see.. I've only had my shiny green toy for two weeks, so no food or liquid is allowed near it.
Means the cup-holders are clear for real uses : holding my MP3 player :)

The centre console on my car currently only holds...
Radar detector (if it's not on the windscreen), power cables for same, power cables + voltage converter for MP3 player, audio cable (with big bulky isolating transformer to stop humming), "valet" and "quick start" cards for Prius.
Nothing in the rear cup holders, nothing but MP3 player in the front cup holders, nothing in the secret drawer yet.

Although, tissues and cleaning wipes : good ideas. Must buy some and stow them in the secret drawer.

Scattered more or less around the car, I also have a 12v air compressor, a tyre pressure gauge, a pair of key rings from the dealer (need a relative to get older so I can gift them away ;) ), parking card, CD cases, an obsolete map or two (mmm.. Navi option), several bungy cord thingies in the boot and a cargo net.

I did mention I've only had it two weeks, right?

Weeds? little boxes. on the hill-sides. little boxes made of ticky-tacky.

JustDrooling4Now: Sounds like it'd be easier just to say "no passengers". That's working well for me so far, and understandable too; humans are such messy little hairless apes ;)

I have a small squeagee to remove water from the side windows after rain, sometimes frost.
    A pack of wet wipes
    Phone charger
    Tyre gauge
    A petrol reciept.
The draw has my phone mount in it. That's it.

The Prius is the first car I have had where no one eats in it. Drink is OK but no food, never!

    I'll play too:

    Center console holds:
A store credit slip for a reptile dealer (yes, I mean snakes and lizards, not some used car salesman)
    2 pens
    small pad of paper
    napkins
microfiber cloth for wiping the MFD
a Massachusetts Special Olympics sticker I keep forgetting to put on the window

    Nothing in the hidden drawer

Small first-aid kit in the glove compartment along with my cell phone charger cord, registration, and AAA card

    Soon to add:
Tissue box - I like this idea and the fit is better than the random pile of Dunks napkins I have now
Glass wipes - I've got two small dogs that leave nose prints all over the back windows

okay, my centre console contents just got reduced to the valet / quickstart cards and the black tray, after some thrice unprintable and-never-to-be-sufficiently-described people smashed a window and liberated the contents :( :(

They didn't touch the secret drawer (hmm.. maybe the tissues get moved out of there) or the glove box; or the little fold-down flap below the stereo (where I keep the CD's and my parking card). They left a torch in plain view on the back floor; and of course the car itself ain't going nowhere thanks to the immobilizer.

I just hope the people around your Prii behave better than the locals 'round here.
    Seriously Unhappy Duck.

    Added to this today,
I found this fantastic Pledge duster that folds to be about 6 inches long but when unfolded it's about 18 inches long. I can dust off the dashboard from the drivers seat and only have to lean a little. Then when the dash is nice and dust free I can shake out the duster outside the car then fold it up to store in a small bag in the draw. It's the best thing for keeping the dash and door trims dust free. :D

I also have a map of New South Wales in the drivers door pocket (even though I have never driven the Prius into New South Wales and don't plan to any time soon).

    Added last week:

Like the VW New Beetle's bud vase, I'm going to use the front cupholder for plant cuttings and cut flowers (I fill one of those inexpensive cupholder ashtrays with water and put the plant or flower stem through the top hole), and maybe a small potted plant.

Right now I have a colorful coleus plant cutting:

parking pass from college, TomTom, iPod, aux cable, monster fm transmitter (to charge a dying iPod), three (different) school id's, half-dozen napkins, barrage of coupons to various local restaurants, second wallet, bank deposit slips, pens, pencils, hand sanitizer, pomegranite mints, mailbox keys, keys to both in-laws and my parents houses, cell phone charger, tylenol, small Ethiopian child (only on the weekends), and white shoe polish.

i think that's all, at least...

I will post my contents later, but just as a reminder for all those folks who have ipods and cameras etc. in there. If you have a cord sticking out or a suction cup mount, you will be the first to be targeted. And if you keep everything in the console and they break into your car anyway, instead of being down a broken window (if you take the stuff with you), you are down a broken window and all the contents of your console. Obviously, it's different for people who park in their garage every night and work in a low-crime location, etc. Just a heads up!

    true dat, mcdonald.

i don't have anything visible from the outside, but even if i did, i think people around here are ignorant enough to actually be afraid of the car... the other day, i walked out to it and :gasp: it unlocked when i grabbed the hatch handle! my neighbor goes, "whoa, buddy. is that how you unlock your car?"
"yes, would you like to try?"

needless to say, he couldn't understand the concept of the SKS...
