While scanning for Youtube reviews, I found: 2017 Toyota Prius Prime Review – Video

    . . .
Called the “Prime” because it’s the range topper, the part-time EV derived from the hybrid Prius Liftback delivers 25 miles of all-electric driving range, a superlative 54 mpg, and its sales are threatening the perennially leading Chevy Volt.

Last month the Prime again beat the Volt by a few hundred sales, and trails it by just 292 sales this year. At its present rate, the Prime could be the first PHEV to relegate the Volt to second-best-selling PHEV for the year since that model inaugurated the major-manufacturer plug-in era in December 2010.

To balance this picture, it should be noted talk of a sales race among PHEVs is like discussing box scores for the local little league team. It’s fun to keep track, does speak to potential, but with around 1 percent of the market, plug-ins sell far below the mainstream.
    . . .

I didn't see anything remarkable in the YouTube review that we didn't already know. Rather it was their take on its sales status.

Part 2 (Part 1 is in post #224)

    Is 235mpg (1.0L/100km) possible?

There is a Swiss German version too. Still, this one shows the type of anal retentive, engineering attitude I can relate to.

    Hey Mr. Tideland,
I found a VERY good review of Prime vs. Volt vs. BMW i3 vs. Tesla 3 for safety!

    Enjoy!

All right, I think my senility is really showing now!! THIS is my Canadian Cutie, who is glib with the French tongue. My comment finally rests here next to Uncle Bob's post!!

A long time ago, 1965, my parents loaded our five brothers into an International Travelall and drove from Oklahoma to Maine via Quebec in the middle of summer. The oldest at 15, I and my next oldest brother were glued to the windows watching the amazing cute French Canadian honeys walking along the side of the road. Eventually we had to stop for gas and my brothers and parents wanted to get some ice cream during the 'Mouvement souverainiste du Québec'.

"Ne parlez pas anglais." was all Mom got.

I had three years of high school French in Oklahoma and with my best Okie accented effort asked,"Pourrions-nous avoir de la crème glacée s'il vous plaît?"

After they stopped, doubled over, laughing, their English improved and we left with our gas and ice cream bars. To this day I suspect they didn't want me to try any more Okie accented French.

A review without a single, spoken word. Best watched in full screen mode, the audio is there and starts with a leaf-blower in the background like a Scottish bagpipe trying to catch its breath. But the rest is just like driving around in my Prius Prime Plus that has the black trim:

I can't say why but I really like this review. Perhaps because I don't feel like I'm being lectured and should be taking notes.

ps. The 'talkie' version, laid back too, but I prefer the silent one:

lol. Bob, I already added those up there. But I guess it's easier to have them both in the same post :)

He also has a day version after he's had the Prime for 2 weeks. Also posted above.

Another favorite reviewer, a little long and perhaps not as rigorous as one might wish:

    • 59.5 MPG @68 mph - close enough
