Where do I find it ?
I think people slided back the front seats all the way and then measured, but as I said the front seats slide back way further than in gen. 3 !
People who didn't buy gen. 3 here in Germany because Toyota reduced leg room vs. gen 2 said that was the first thing they noticed when they took a visit at IAA in Germany !
They were pleased with leg room in gen. 4 !
Why would they If they weren't happy with gen. 3 ?

Here it is for quick reference: Dimensions.PNG

Once it is in the dealers, I plan to measure rear the leg room in my gen 3, then set a comfortable driving position in a gen 4 and measure rear leg room in that car. That will settle it.

I guess we will have to do that !
This proves absolutely nothing as we don't know how the messurments were taken .
The front seats slide back further now and of course this will result in less legroom at first sight, but at the same time there is more space in the front which wasn't there before .

looks like they took an inch for the front, and lost an inch and a half to the back.

2.5" lost in the back seat - 1" gained in the front, means they slid the back seat forward 1.5", adding the 1.5" to cargo, or is the car shorter?

Guess we have to wait and see,but from my view something is wrong here !
    I am 1.88 cm .
So if sombody like me or even taller would sit in the front it would mean I could hardly sit in the back !
Probably I would have no leg room at all !
    I don't believe that !
I have enough leg room in my gen 3 when I sit in the back and a tall person is driving, and I was told the gen. 2 had even quite a bit more leg room than gen. 3 and now they even further reduced it so that more or less only children can sit comfortably in the back ?
2.5 inches less is probably just as bad as the Volt !
Toyota would never do that !

Prius Gen 2 has lots of leg room in the rear 38.6 in. Think about taking 5 inches of that away, which is substantial. One of the reason kids like it is, bench like seat and lots of leg room, no need to stoop to get in/out of the car.

Not sure what Toyota was thinking.... screwed up big time.

    it is actually 2.6"
that's what it looks like from PP presentation video. I think roofline may be not the main reason, they had to make up space for battery and tank.

    Android mergie mergie

Just for quick reference rear legroom in Prius C is 35", so it is 1.6" less than even C. But trunk is bigger, so netcub can fit even more trolls!

    Android merge ftw

I think there might be confusion about front and rear legroom. Gen3 dash panel are sticking out so while there is enough room when seated, you end up hanging knees on dashboard getting in/out. Prius C has less legroom but more room for the knees, so it looks roomier than Gen3.

Toyota Europe has the answer to that:
    http://newsroom.toyota.eu/pressrelease/4762/1/toyota-reaches-greater-heights-efficiency-all-new-prius
    • Nought to 100km/h acceleration in 10.6 seconds. Highway overtaking acceleration from 80 to 120km/h accomplished in 8.3 seconds

I am 1.89 cm and i could easily "sit behind myself" and enough headroom. It's roomy in the back

That is for 0-62, not 0-60.
G3 got anywhere from 9.8sec to 10.2 depending on who tested. Seems slower than G3.
Also, I am not sure about G3 timings for 50-70. I need comparison because G3 feels slow, if G4 is slower than that, then it is useless.

Edmunds has important info about EPA ratings:

That explains how official ratings are up a bit while real world numbers like what Wayne does are up a lot more.

Also when it comes to power - less overall hp, but more at the bottom, which results in overall similar acceleration.

60, 62, ms up or down, no one will notice any difference in real life, I think that is the point.

But all in all I would also like to have more power than Gen3, but it's not a deal braker IMO

apperantly it is noticably faster in 0-30, which likely means that it is slightly slower at high speed... but as you said, I am not sure if anyone will notice... Danny did notice low speed thrust being much better.

So it is like Prius C in that regard. I wonder with weight being up and power down if it will be a dog on long steep climbs.
