Keep in mind that this is their first Prius sold in the region. They've never imported the Prius (officially) before.

Yes, a full size spare is available in some markets. (I think it's even mentioned in our manual for some reason)

Good review but I can't help but wonder how they got such terrible mpg on the 3rd gen Prius. The report states Gen 3 averaged 44 mpg on their course and "On our city course, the 2016 Prius returned 43 mpg, a stunning 11 mpg improvement over the old version." So 32 mpg on their city course??
I've never gotten those kind of poor numbers on my 2012. Generally my worst is winter time 47-48 mpg and right now, consistently 50-52 mpg.

"Still, there are some oddities inside the Prius, such as the center-dash-mounted instrument readout. The transmission’s shifter is a tiny, toy-like joystick. Our test car had a plastic center console that looks like a Stormtrooper’s bedpan."
    1) I instead find the behind-the-wheel-I cannot see a thing-I need to refocus a lot-need to take my eyes off the road regular dash from pre-historic cars really odd and even unsafe. I have to look forward, not behind the wheel...
    2) The shifter? why should it be anymore more than a joystick? one touches it maybe 2 times average per trip. It is not meant to be touched continuously like a manual transmission gear shift stick, so why should it be or provide any other feeling than that. It is a joystick - yes! And rightly so! It even feels more solid than the Gen3 one!
    3) Stormtrooper's would wish they had such a bedpan. Why should a car have black plastic? why is white only associated with hygienic environments? and not with purity, lightness, pureness and also provide less heat storage as only instead black plastic can do???

I really would like how this guys who reviewed the car drove it - likely jerking around with sudden useless accelerations, and consequently strong braking - any car would never be ok for him. 43mpg in city course? what temp? what city? what type of traffic? what driving style? trying to reach the next traffic light? what temp at the AC? was ECO mode used if in winter? or was it in normal?

These reviews/tests are so useless as they are so far from being objective and scientific...

    Right on, brother! (y)

43 is crazy low! That can't be right. He was probably looking at the "from the flag" gas mileage indicator. I drive my Prius like I stole it, with the AC on every day, and I get 58-60, easy.
    Disappointing report from CR.

Where can I get one that color? Nice! My white is looking pretty boring....

(I think I will change her name to " Stormtrooper." :D)

I drove both back to back on a bright sunny day and felt that the white was glaring and added to eye fatigue.

I have to test that. Not much sun here these past months, and when I was in a Gen4 either testing it (snow) or as a passenger (last saturday - late afternoon and sitting at the back), I could not assess that.
I have also my doubts about the navi/main console quite big reflective screen (because it is black and all, but it is very reflective/glossy)...

    None.
    Nada.
    Zip.
    Zero.

    No reflections.
    No glaring.
    No distraction.
I don't even notice the beautiful "white china" while driving. Even my light-colored Harvest Beige dashboard doesn't reflect into the windshield.

For corn sakes! Prius drivers aren't wussies! (Are they???) :ROFLMAO: Just wear sunglasses! Or get a window tint job! (y) Or buy that black $300 stick-on thing.

Seriously, people are making WAY too big a deal out of the white console. Once your driving the car, it's a non-issue.

When the nav screen is powered on I don't notice how reflective it is. With it powered off it does shine though, and also shows a lot of finger prints. The black surround doesn't bother me

YMMV; it could certainly just be me. I had LASIK years ago and I find I'm a bit more sensitive to light now. With sunglasses on it was a non-issue. But I thought there may be a potential to annoy me going in and out of street lights which is why I opted for black interior with the black overlay

Yes, finger prints bug me. But then I found out I can do so many functions by using the buttons on the steering wheel, and not touch the big screen. I also keep a small micro-fiber cloth in the car, and while at a long red light I pull it out and do a little "dusting" and finger print removal. :ROFLMAO:

My Prius is turning out to be the best car I ever had. I hope I get 15 years out of her. ;)

For sure the dashboard and the center console seem to be way easier to clean now than on Gen3... nice flat surfaces with essentially no buttons... :)
