    Assuming no options, the invoice for Prime Advanced + Destination - $2,500 rebate is $30,161. So eguigal got his car for $523 below invoice. Wow. :eek:. Excellent deal(y).

    As in my original post, my Advanced has two options, "Special Paint," Blizzard Pearl to set off the stormtrooper steering wheel insert and shift console and "Four Season Floor Liner/Mat Package" a necessity in the NE, where the seasonal weather and temperature shift will do its best in performance degradation to eliminate the temporary price advantage we are enjoying in these parts. . .

    Not that I'm complaining about the price at all.

    Now to venture outside and drill a hole for the Chargepoint install, my project today.

    Costco states invoice = 33167 for special color + all weather floor liner+ destination
    Edmund states invoice =33176 for special color + all weather floor liner+ destination
    If dealership is willing to sell at invoice and if is willing to provide TM 2500 cash back invoice price range are 30667-30676 for the Prius Advanced.
    Using purchase vehicle of 29638 the savings are in the range of 1029 to 1038, when using invoice information from Costco and Edmund.
    The invoice information from where ever may be used as guideline, it is not near actual invoice information that each region dealership attaining. My advice is to negotiate lowest price you are able to negotiate with the information you are able to attain and then some more if you are able to at that time. Afterwards enjoy your vehicle.

    I am getting internet prices at most Toyota dealership and nothing I see is below $34000 for Prime Advanced. Shopping for a new car looks like a daunting task. What is an invoice price?

    i just checked holman in mount laurel, and it said $2,500. rebate.

    runnemede says $2,500. plus $1,000. cash.

    Thanks. Holman dealership is very close, but not have a good reputation. I will use the above incentives and cashback as a reference to check other dealerships in the area. My aim is to get a deal finalized before May 31st with a final price of $29,638.

    I have a dealer asking for the final price of $32,873(plus tax and tags). Is this a good price? To me it still is not the optimal price, but it has optional equipment. Here is the breakdown.

    MSRP: $34,453.00

    Yes exactly. I also don't know, that how did this dealer reached to a final price of $32,873 from the MSRP of $34,500. Now I am guessing that they want to leave a room for negotiation.

    I thought that the math is simple i.e., whatever is the MSRP subtract $1000 for dealer incentive and $2500 for Toyota. So this dealer's math didn't add up.

    perhaps they didn't graduate elementary school. that would limit there job opportunities to automobile sales.:cool:

    Toyota Rebate $2,500 (only in NY, NJ, MA expires 5/1/2017)

    Is this correct, that the $2500 Toyota Rebate has expired on May 1st 2017 and this rebate is not applicable in Pennsylvania.

    My pricing of Prius Prime Advance, as shown in a previous post, was from a Pennsylvania dealer and maybe that explains the reason for the missing $2500 rebate.

    I just checked Brunswick Toyota and it shows $2500 off of the Primes and $1500 off the hatchbacks.

    As I posted earlier, I found Toyota dealers to be the worst of any car maker I've dealt with (the one very bad thing about the "Toyota Experience"), so be prepared for sleaze.

    The reason the figures don't match is because it looks like the dealer is in effect asking way ABOVE MSRP but trying to hide it by taking part of the Toyota Cash-Back $$ (that's supposed to ALL go to YOU), and taking a big chunk of it for themselves. If they just leave you a little bit of it (instead of the whole thing, which is supposed ALL go to you) then the "out the door" price LOOKS like it's a bit under MSRP -- when in reality it's supposed to be a LOT more under MSRP (with the Cash Back taken into account). If you let them get away with this, then not only are you paying Full MSRP, but also letting the dealer take money from Toyota that's supposed to only go to you instead, giving them quite a bundle.

    I can tell you here in California, some dealers are doing this as well (Elmore Toyota), calling it "Market Adjustment." Yes, just like your example, "SmellMore" Toyota isn't just asking full MSRP, but also taking about 1/2 of the Toyota $1000 cash back (Toyota's Cash Back is $1000 here in Calif, it seems to be about $2500 on the east coast) for themselves, even in the official Edmunds quote.

    So shop around. Walk out. Go to another dealer. Walk out.

    As I posted earlier, when the dealer I received an emailed (and verified by them!) quote from (North Hollywood Toyota) started with their crap and games (suddenly not honoring their own quote anymore, saying it was a "mistake", adding $500 for a piece of sticky tape, etc), I simply WALKED OUT. 15 minutes later down the freeway my phone rang from the dealership saying they'd honor the quote.

    Especially with Toyota dealers, those not prepared to WALK OUT (for real) and go to another dealership (or wait until the car becomes more widely available), will be fleeced. If you walk out, you'll be surprised. Most of the time the dealer will call you back and cut at least some of the fleecing that those who didn't walk out would be taken for. But only once you've actually walked out and left. If you only threaten to walk out but don't... or just say you're disappointed, but don't walk out when stuff like this happens, you'll be fleeced.

    Don't forget about the Cash Back you're supposed to get from Toyota (whatever amount it is where you currently live) when they quote you that "out the door price before tax." Looks like this one dealer (and others) are happy to take a big chunk of it for themselves, hoping the buyer forgets about it and just sees that the "out the door price" is a bit under MSRP, not realizing that, with the Cash Back from Toyota -- EVEN WITH THE DEALER GETTING FULL MSRP -- the out-the-door price before tax should be QUITE A BIT LESS than MSRP...
