This is normal? More-or-less daily crashes? Starts with pages not loading, occasional warnings popping, then progresses to full shut down? For over a year?
Of course, I know absolutely nothing about any of the "database error" stuff. But, never stopped me before. But, I somewhat seriously doubt Danny does anything. I think it just gets fixed in some other way -- or it heals itself --- Hmmm....
it's frustrating, to say the least. it would at least be nice to know what the cause is. could the server need more memory?
When a database gets corrupted....for whatever reason......and then it is not thoroughly scrubbed and fixed, it will just keep getting worse, even if the original cause is fixed. Of course, it the original cause is still there screwing things up too.......things will just keep getting worse and worse UNTIL.......the only real fix is to wipe everything and start over. All recent signs point to things getting worse and not better.......and it is just a matter of time until the "big crash".
It seems to never fail. I make a lot of posts the night before and need to answer today, and bam. Oh well, they can't read the replies anyway. I've been an IT guy for 28 years on mission critical systems so I know what it's like on the tech side and the pressure to make things work, but it's still frustrating for the end users.
p/c reply button doesn't work, so we keep trying. but it is actually posting every time you click it, resulting in multiple posts all over the board.
I noticed that too. On a windows computer, try posting once, then hit F5 to refresh the page (or whatever does the same function on a mac, there might be "refresh" command in pulldown menu, with hotkey tip), see if it's posted or not.

Nope, the above isn't posting, at least not first try. Get this (lack of) progress indicator crunching away.

Hah, guess I'm the poster boy for multiple posting. All joking aside, maybe we should send out a search party for @Danny ?
