The utter fail white plumbing pieces defacing Prime interior

I swear, I have to be the only person who actually loves the white accents on the interior. Lol

Assume this is for the black and white interior? My wife called it the "Star Wars" motif and vetoed it in no uncertain terms!

 

I ordered both the steering wheel and panel cover. Both came in before my trip but I did not have time to install them. Both fit perfectly (did a quick dry fit) and come with double sided tape. I will install them next weekend when I get home.

 

If a matte finish is preferred, in the link below are photos where the owner Plasti-dipped their steering wheel and masked off the area to avoid having to remove the wheel from the car.

Is the idea of having the white to make it easier to see things when dark/night?

 

I did get the moonstone and I actually like the white a lot. The steering wheel white piece is a bit odd I'll grant you, but more because it's there, not that it's white.

I like the white accents but believe they match certain exteriors better than others.
With the Blizzard Perl exterior, I think the white accents are pretty nice.
That synergy was a bit lost with some of the other exterior colors...

Speaking of color synergy...I did find that the various "white" colors didn't mix as well as I would have liked.
Pearl is a slightly yellowish white and Moonstone is a bit of a blue/grey tint white and I would have preferred to see better alignment across the "whites". I ended-up with a black interior because I just couldn't get past the difference between the various white-ish colors to go with moonstone. It was also what was in the one I got a good deal on.

 

My Prius PHV (aka Prius Prime) has just arrived at the dealer, I paid a visit to her, sitting in the dealer parking lot (deliver expected end of October) just to verify that everything was as expected. During the inspection I've noticed that the cellphone support below the armrest is black, while the steer wheel has the funny white insert.
All in all I would have liked the contrary: a white tonneau cover seems functional because it is less likely to forget in the car cellphone and other belongings which are lying over it. Viceversa, a white insert in the steer wheel appear to have no purpose at all, over than making the wheel to look like an humanoid wicked face... supposedly, I will get used to it, bottom line it recalls the car body color (pearl white).
Furthermore I already have a Clazzio seats leather cover set in order. Which color? White, it goes without saying! It will pair well

 

Here, most Prius Liftback models had the white console. My Trim Two has a matte black one. The shifter surround is still white though. All have the white steering wheel. Some have found third party covers for the steering wheel.

 

I'm honestly surprised what a difference the black shifter applique makes. I bough the steering wheel garnish as well. My prime had all black cup holder/console and white steering wheel and shifter. With my black interior, I feel classy.

 

Our garages are almost identical, same red vette, our Prime is dark gray. The Prime gets a lot more use than the vette though! There's not much Prius love on the vette forum, which is understandable though.

Absolutely... NOT! Both items have 3M tape on the backside. Clean the existing surface, align the piece, then press to stick.

 

I had bought the black appliqué through the dealer, which leaves the inners of cup holders and phone charger white. I wonder if your appliqué would fit over what I already have installed? A little white isn’t as bad as la Prime au naturale, but NO white would be better.

 

Perhaps the matte black console on some Gen 4s would fit. The price would not be nice, though.
