The Prius Waiting List Support Group.

I've been waiting on my Prius for 6 months called my dealership this week and was told it still has not been allocated yet.
I've emailed toyota, called the regional office where my dealership says allocations are made and contacted my dealership on a regular basis. I am #1 on the list and have two different colors picked, will take either regular or touring, but am firm on wanting package #6.
If it doesn't come soon I'll have to jump ship and buy a Honda. Anybody still out there that has had to wait as long?

 

Talked to the dealership today and there's a Magnetic Gray #6 (Non-Touring) with our name on it. It leaves Japan on the 30th and should be at our dealership by the 10-13th. Finally!!!!

 

Congratulations Steevr!! Our waits are finally paying off. The list from April and May is getting shorter and shorter. I'll leave you on the list till you take delivery. I post a revised list tonight sometime. There is hope in the world. Well, at least of getting a Prius .

 

While I never joined "the list" I too had been waiting for nearly 3 months when I found out that I was still 54th and had moved down only 5 positions in a month. Having sold our other car, I was in desperate need to get a car. So I looked on Craigslist and saw a #6, brand new from a Leasing agency. I called them and drove off one day later with a beautiful car with window tinting and bra to boot! I checked Craigslist just now, (in Denver), and there are a couple of new cars available. I encourage all of you to do the same in your home towns. When a dealer has a car, and the person it was ordered for does not want it/moved on, rather than bumping it "up the list", they first offer it to these leasing agencies, as they buy a couple of dozen cars from the dealership every month, and it pays to keep them happy. They in turn may not have anybody on a wait list, so they put them up for sale...worth checking out.

 

hmmm...I wasn't picky about color and got my 2008 #2 package in 9 days in Pittsburgh. I was told someone drove from Detroit the previous week to pick one up. I was also told that another PGH dealer had a long waiting list. If desperate, I'd call around

 

Stopped by Airport Toyota today on the way back from Indianapolis. Our Silver 2009 Pkg. #6 Touring is due in today through the 30th. They still have a few loaner '08 Prii on the lot. Those are all Pkg. #2. We should have our 'Silver Bullet' this weekend! Pictures to follow.

Well.. still waiting on my Classic Silver package 2. It looks hopeful though. i went by the dealer tonight (for my bi-weekly after hours visit) and they had 4 '09 in stock. As well as 2 in the back that were marked "presold". So hopefully mine will be in soon. I love the ones that they have in stock, but just a little out of my price range. They are all package 5 and 6. I think i am going to call tomorrow and prod the sales manager a little to try and find out where we are at. Last week i talked to him and he said that they were still looking for me one b/c they had not got on on the last allottment. I see quite a few that show to me coming available in the next week or so in the SE region. Hopefully i will have more news tomorrow night... or just keys in hand would be nice.

 

Awesome rcaine!!!! I am so happy for you! We are having the same problems here in Rock Hill, SC with gas shortages. I again am glad I got my TCH! BTW I am now up to 40.7mpg in the city..it is broken in now and they are correct, breaking it in makes a difference! Enjoy your car and take care!

Been on the list since July for a Touring Package 2...the dealership told me September - October...Called for an update today and was given the word that it could be another 3 months...ugh...THEN...received a phone call from another dealership letting me know they can trade and get my Prius in Silver Pine Mica delivered by the end of September at sticker price...not above. They want a deposit, and have provided me with a VIN number, but wont write up a sales contract until the Prius has been delivered to their dealership. Does anyone have any input regarding this? Thank you to EVERYONE who offers support and information on PC...There is something to be learned everyday....Hope to be among the "owners" group soon. Erin

Well it's official, we are now off the list as well. Got picked up by the dealer at 1PM Friday, and driven to the dealership. At 2:45PM I drove off the lot with our new 2009, Metallic Silver, Touring Pkg #6, "The Silver Bullet" Put some of camping gear we carry down to our trailer and took off. With just over 120 miles, the average mileage is showing 41.5 mpg. 50% of the trip is interstate, 50% is state highways. We had several 10 to 15 minute segments over 50 mpg. Will be ordering the scanguage this next week.

The ride is absolutely wonderful, and playing my iPhone through the Aux port is incredible. We are going to really love this car.

Great News!!! Just got off the phone with my saleman. He said that my 09 Package 2, Classic Silver should be here either monday, or tues. He is supposed to call me first thing Mon. morning and let me know. He said that either i can pick it up on Mon. afternoon, or on Tues. afternoon...so the wait goes on, but at least it is hopeful.

 

I put a deposit down on a package 2 standard in three different color choices on July 28. They called me Friday to tell me the car is IN and ready to be picked up! We are to receive our second color choice - Driftwood Pearl.
Puzzling, however, is the fact that we were not able to write up a contract until it came in...I hope everything goes smoothly and we are not gouged in price because we waited. This dealership was the third place we visited - the other two told us the wait was 6 - 9 months, but this one said 2-3 months and met that window easily.

Monday, September 29: Went to pick up Prius exactly two months to the day after ordering! They had told us it would be a package 3 - I forgot when I typed this originally.
We are truly happy so far! Though we ordered what we thought would be a 2008, we were the third party to get a 2009 at our dealership!
And be sure to visit Rex Viola at Lincoln, NE's dealership to buy yours - he was refreshingly calm, not at all a hard sell!
It took about two hours to go through all the stations, and when we said no to "the extra add-ons", they were kind not to push us. We bought at retail - no inflated "above sticker prices!" We wanted the GAP insurance, too.

 

I put the deposit down last Wednesday for a 2009 package 5 with color choices of White, Spectra Blue and Silver, in that order. The wait begins, hopefully it won't be too long.ray:

 

TAKE ME OFF THE LIST!!! I just went and picked up my package 2 classic silver tonight. Everything at the dealer went perfect... i think that i was only there 2 hours... said no to warranty, and maintenence, but yes to GAP. Overall it was a pretty good experience. I think that i waited almost 3 weeks for mine. So that wasn't that bad. Now.... on to research for leather seat covers

 

:dizzy: Gotta a phone call from my dealership last Friday double checking what I wanted color, pkg. ect.. They told me I would be getting exactly what I wanted. It would be here in 6 weeks. I was thinking "patients is a virture",my wait had paid off I get the exact car I wanted!

Then got a return call (from a call I made to them last week) from the regional office this week saying my car would be here in 8-10 weeks and it could be the silver pine mica I have been waiting for but it would probably be the red one. I was a little disappointed I've waited all this time for what I wanted and after all the wait I still may not have my #1 color choice. What is it with the green that make it so hard to get???

Anyway it will be here in 6-10 weeks and it may be green but probably red. Please tell me it will be worth it all. :dizzy:

 

Did you ask if you could maintain your place on the waiting list for the car of your choice concerning color? My hubby did not want to do that, but I thought about it!

 

Well, still waiting!!! The person who ordered the day before me is picking hers up Fri. 10/3. Mine has not even showed up on any allocation list yet either.
