My 1960 Comet station wagon got a bird caught in the front grill (one of those cast metal grills they used to have). I put on gloves and pulled and it wouldn't come out, finally the head ripped off. Arrgh. Not gross, but in the Prius trunk I had mexican pinto beans spill over (not bbq fortunately!). I waited until it dried and then scraped it off, you can't even tell they were there!

There was the time both of my twins threw up (one induced the other...and almost me!) at the same time. Middle of the interstate and it was below freezing outside in the middle of the night 3 hours from home...that was a fun trip!

Crab-apple berries - both before and after the birds have digested them (then the turn to purple liquid). On a beige car. Worse than glue.

Mom smacked a decent size bird with an old Oldsmobile years ago. Heard something up front and had to stop the car. The poor thing was still alive somehow with it's head squished between the bumper and radiator grill. I was young and freaked out. She made me go around back while she "took care of it".

I have no idea what she had to do, but it can't have been pleasant. :D

no dead animals, thank god, but a massive bird just relieved itself on my prius.. seriously, the splash is the size of my hand. bright white on my black prius's hood. :/ i specifically didn't park under a tree after seeing the size of the birds in our neighborhood.. still got hit. hightailing it to the car wash tomorrow.

the bird-in-the-grill stories make me shudder. please, please never let that happen to me.

That reminds me. My very first car was a 1990 BMW 318i E30. Bought it used...

One day while cleaning the engine bay I discover what looks like a bird skeleton in the radiator. I removed it and on closer inspection I see this thing has hooks/nails at the tips of the wings. It was a bat skeleton. The previous owner must have somehow hit one that got into the radiator gril.

and they stain! Happened to me too. Had to use some color magic polish to get the stain off my white car.

There are many pine trees in our area. When the sap runs, it falls on the car and because its clear, you don't notice it until it hardens. Damn tough stuff to get off. Finally had to go to a body shop where I purchased a 3M product to remove the stuff. Spray on, let sit a few seconds, then scrap off with a plastic scraper. Works like a charm. I avoid pine trees whenever possible.

after scanning this thread I think all this stuff should be moved under a forum called "diet"

Every time I'll feel an urge to eat I just read it and it will stop me from eating ;)

Back in the '70s, my grandmother hit a live goat doing 90 in her Buick. There were bits of goat stuck in the radiator and in the undercarriage and all over the exterior. She took the car to the dealer who spent almost the entire day trying to get it clean. He told her that she was lucky she didn't hit a pig at that would have flipped the car.

But at least you could just keep the engine running and have some BBQ.
