Bill, I was a bit surprised to learn you left gas in the tank. Any concerns of it shellacking the fuel pump and injectors?

I will be taking all possible precautions. That tank is nearly empty anyway, and what is still in it will be pumped into a safety can and not reused. The old gas will never see the injectors.

Roger your comment Bill. I only piped up because of a problem I once had with at Datsun 280Z I put in storage years ago. Prior to storage I emptied the fuel tank thinking of the bad gas issue. I stored it for about a year and when I pulled it back out, added new gas, reinstalled the battery, and it would not start. Investigating, I learned the fuel pump AND injectors had gummed up due to residual fuel that turned to varnish. The pump was not too hard to clean but the injectors were anther story. I eventually got it running again but spent a few surprise dollars to get it done.

Love your project. Cannot wait for the outcome and see it drive. You gotta get the wife to shoot a video for you to post here!

I'll have one in 3 to 4 years when I retire, move to the ocean, and build THIS...

However, the Firebrid should be near done before that.

We have a location targeted that is 25 to 30 feet in elevation, yet only a 10 minute drive to the current location of the beach.

100 years from now it will be on a peninsula. ;)

You need to wish warm weather on me more often.

A rare warm November day in Ohio today. I couldn't resist taking the day off from work to work some more on the car. It's too complicated to move the car out for one day's work and have it put away again for my wife to park in the garage after work, but I do have full access to the right side of the car.

Today I removed the door glass from the right door to get it out of the way of planned media blasting in that area. GM's set-up from 1967 is more complex than I expected, but the task got done. I will be able to go much faster on the left door come spring now that I know all of the bolts and brackets that need to come out before the window can.

Back under the covers it goes. Please feel free to wish some more warm weather on Ohio for me!

I guess now we just hope for an early spring. How about the first of April, give us something to ease the pain of tax time?

The first weekend in April is usually when I start back into things each year, so you will likely get your wish.

Now I need to go wake the reindeer and wax the runners on the sleigh. ;)

Just to take a break from the election results...
Here are some photos from when I first bought the Firebird in August, 1979. These photos are from the day I brought it home, so there aren't even tags on the car yet. The gal in the car is my then teenage sister. Ah, the memories...
