No progress today. Full day of chores indoor, outdoors and grocery fetching. Spring has arrived...

In British Columbia, you could register it as a U-BUILT perfectly legal after inspection.

As long as Ohio (where I live now) and Delaware (where I plan to retire to) have a category for Street Rods, I'm golden. The Firebird's VIN is the surviving one. The Prius v VIN is now dead. In fact, I just cut the one below the windshield off over the weekend.

Very hot and humid today, with storm clouds always close by. I decided to do what I could on the donor "v" inside the garage. Both rear fenders got trimmed back so that they will slide up under the Firebird body more easily when the time comes.

Also happened to find an abandoned mouse nest that must have been started by a mouse when the car was just sitting at the insurance yard. The shreaded stuffing was up between the inner fender liner and metal wheel well. With my two cat here at the house, I can guarantee that mouse is long gone!

Not at the moment, but it could get more interesting on Mother's Day.

Rain forecast for Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon in Central Ohio. Time to remove all of the interior electronics and dash components in preparation for fitting the Firebird body later this summer. The neighbors will just need to get used to seeing that rear roof section in my driveway for a while. It will eventually give its structure and sheetmetal as bridge components between the old and new bodies.

Thanks for the offer, but I already have a 2004 Prius and 2010 Prius... plus the convertible in the making. ;)

Dash dis-assembly continuing on the donor car. Glad I'm labeling the wires before I disconnect them!

I also found out why the car quit running last weekend. Seems I cut through the right front ABS cable while I was trimming off the top of the firewall. Quite a jigsaw puzzle in there.

Got in a couple hours in the hot muggy weather until the driving rain started. There's always tomorrow...

My goal for the long weekend (foolhardy or not) us to have EVERYTHING in the dash area of the "v" donor car off by the end of Memorial Day. Once that is done, it will be time to turn my attention back to the convertible body. I'm anxious to start solving that 3-dimensional jigsaw puzzle I made for myself.

I'd say more like a computer repair shop after a tornado hits it.

Hoping to get to the point that I can move back over to the convertible body by sometime next weekend to start making modifications there. I am getting the itch...

Note to self: I need more saw blades.
