Way to go Dan. You've got this Texan grinning ear to ear. Yippee!
Did you fill up? How much did it take?

I didn't run out of gas this time. The pump I used was not cooperating. It was one of those all or nothing pumps. It took 11.601 gallons and looked about as full as I usually get it. You could see the gas in the filler tube.

Way to go Don!!!! And here I'm just shooting for a measly 700 miles ;)

Ok - now all you have to do is get a tank like this in the dead of winter, and if you can pull that off, you should quit your day job and work full time as a prius master driver, selling tips and techniques to the rest of us! :)

Congrats again, you deserve all my points. Let us know how the 1100 mile run goes!

Thanks rflagg. I would like to quit my day job! Not just yet however. I do have big plans for the winter, shooting for 65MPG.

Evan Fusco just posted an announcement about the marathon run. I believe that he will start a thread and post reports throughout the weekend. I feel pretty confident about 1100 miles. I am even getting the feeling we have a shot at 1200 miles.

Thanks for all the points. This is the first time I noticed them. What are they for?

The points aren't for really anything, just bragging rights - you get one for each post you make. I'll see if I can make it up to Pittsburgh next weekend, I'd love to learn the techniques hands on.

That would be great! The more the merrier. Contact Dave Bassage at [email protected]. He would be happy to get you any details that you will need.

There will also be an HCH and an Insight at the event if you are interested in other hybrids. The owners of those are two of our team members. The technique has proven beneficial to all hybrid drivers. Our fifth team member is a long time insight owner who has applied the technique to his non-hybrid Accord. His LMPG for the Accord is over 50MPG!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm sure that others could accomplish 1000 miles given the route that I take to work. It is absolutely perfect for the Prius and I had perfect weather to do it. Everything fell into place.

I have one more huge tank to go. Then I will relax and start thinking about how to keep warm in the winter. That will be the next challenge.
