It is. More comfortable (front seats and suspension), better dynamics and superb headlights (though, like the IIHS says, the left beam could be improved but the right beams shoots down the road).

Yup. On a good day and the same trip, I’d probably get 57mpg in the Gen 3.

I have driven just about 70 miles in a day back in March on EV with (free) public charging and home charging (110V) so it’s doable (and you have to be lucky with the public chargers).

Yeah my highway mileage almost mirrors yours. IIRC, I got about 48mpg at 70mph with 4 ppl and a full trunk (up to the window line)

Congratulations, Ray. You are gonna love that thing!! Can't wait to read about your experiences. And the blue is the only other great color besides the red, so good choice there, too.

Edit to add a +1 on the efficiency, but I haven't had a lot of opportunities to use it yet. As of today, I'm just over 1,600 miles on my first tank at 91% EV and still at 3/4 tank.

    IMO it is:).

I can imagine the first sun block on the softex would be a disaster:eek:.

The Plus still has heated seats which is a nice surprise (y).

In Canada, the heated steering wheel is also standard.

The Blue was it for me:).

They got this one in from Fremont toyota, and it has 44 miles on the odometer when we got in it for the test drive:cool:.

But I wasn’t waiting any longer than the 3 weeks I gave them to find a Plus in blue;).

It even has the rubber floor mats which were thrown in(y).

I tried that out on the wife’s RX450h and it’s an interesting experience ;).

Not sure it does much, but I don’t have the climate to support the need like you do(y).

Austin TX (i.e., hot!) guy talking here: Originally, I was very concerned about not being able to get cloth seats on our Advanced, however, I’ve been surprised with how well it’s worked out. That’s almost certainly because the “moonstone” seats are partly-to-mostly white, and because we tinted the windows.

Speaking as a Central-Texan, I thought the heated steering wheel would be totally silly, but I have to confess, I’ve found it embarrassingly addictive!

Don't know if I will ever read all the way through. Sure wish the index was more substantial.

    That would be sweet!

Ouch. Fortunately for me most of the places I drive are max 65 MPH though there will be some 70 MPH on the way to Canada this week. Maybe some 75, I don't remember. In my Gen II, 55 MPH = 55 MPG.

Plus there is a CA tax credit isn't there?

    That must have hurt.

The CA credit is $1500, so $6002 in overall tax credits:).

    I’ll take it(y).

What I’m really trying for is to convince her to take the Prime on errand runs;).

    But that’s an uphill battle:love:.

Let’s hope it doesn’t get to that;).

But I’m sure if I was down and out, he’d step up:).

    I’d do the same(y).

    Congrats on the new ride!

I'm in a hertz Kia Forte with alignment issues this week. I was just getting used to the weight of the Pacifica I had last week. And still miss the Fusion Hybrid I had the week before.

    There's always next week.

Anyway your new car looks beautiful! I saw quite a few primes in LA last week but where I live they are rare. Good luck with it!
