Only one, but it was stupefying - "Is that one of those commie cars?"

Funny... my friends know it's expensive but they don't seem to know how much. A friend with another car of similar price but has leather/moonroof/power driver's seat etc has my female friends saying what a nice car it is. lol. It's amazing how the seat material can make a car seem more expensive than it is (might be the reason why Toyota added leather for the Prius).

I was in line at the border re-entering Washington State from British Columbia, Canada. The line was crawling, and I overheard two gals in the next car over from me talking about our car. We were sitting silently in line, and whenever the line would move, the engine would fire up, and as soon as we stopped, it would quit.

They were saying something about the car, and how it really isn't green because when the battery fails it goes into a landfill and pollutes!

I am sure there is a way to recycle the traction batteries, not to mention they won't need replacing until they are 8-9 years old (hopefully). And even then, they are still under warranty so it shouldn't cost me anything.

Face it, people are threatened by the Prius... they fear it and the only way to counter that (in their minds) is to fight it and bash it.

I mean, they feel superior in their SUVs.... now if something comes along and takes that away from them, they have nothing left and feel insecure lol...

(sorry, I'm just stating my thoughts after reading DaveLeePrius' post and the comments from here: http://jalopnik.com/cars/spy-photos/first-...ius-299305.php)
