It would depend if you had a heated one on the vehicle to begin with.

 

You used to be able to buy rear window defroster kits, for cars with no rear defroster. They consisted of a plastic sheet with heating elements embedded in it, and connection wiring. Something like this, but only across the lower third of the windshield (because of visibility issues), might help with chronic fogging and icing.

 

The EHL thing sounds like what Ford had and that heated the entire windshield.

 

i wonder if it can be retro fitted in the Prius and what ecu or control module we need. Can you check if the dimensions are the same because I see my windshield breaking in the next couple of months (the Pip is driven 1200 miles a week) its the main reason i keep my comprehensive deductible zero. I have a commercial account with Toyota and Lexus, I can also obtain the information, but not with as much ease as you. Since the prices are almost the same, especially with my polices being written for OE parts .

 

Looking at photos of the two cars it does not appear that the windshields are interchangeable.

 

You are very correct. I contacted my local Toyota dealership and they said the same thing
I think calling a glass shop should help, or actually putting the glasses side by side. How can we see if they're interchange able?

 

Have you looked for aftermarket overlay kits?

I am sure if Toyota start chucking these extra features, CT200h won't sell, don't get me wrong CT200h looks much nicer than the Prius, so I guessed they did it on purpose

Prius = Budget luxury hybrid car
CT200h = Luxury hybrid car

I do wish the interior in Prius is less plasticy though.

 

If you think spending ~$33,000 on a car is budget, I really want to see your garage.
We are discussing the pip not the regular prius if saving money was goal we would go buy a messed up Honda civic for $3500 which would save money in the long run

The msrp on the ct is same as the msrp on the prius when I bought it. If the ct was available in plugin I would have gotten that, because it would've fit right in with my Es hybrid and Rx hybrid family.

CT is luxury, but the pip is NOT BUDGET.

 

How much is CT in US? In here if you buy new.
Prius is about $50k
CT is about $ 64k

so that's about 14k difference, if Toyota start putting more stuff into Prius, how can they justify the 14k difference.

We don't have that in Sydney lol, only 2 models of GEN III either i-Tech or normal Prius.

 

Exactly PLUG-in Prius which had the msrp of $32700 when I bought and the ct had the msrp of $32300

IS the interior still plastic on your PiP? as CT in here is full leather... and my Prius only PU Leather seats... everything else is plastic

 

I'm not saying Prius is luxury
Even Lexus isn't "full" leather, the dish is vinyl on my RX450h even the center consult IS plastic and the roof console is plastic as well the side door is wood trimmed but the rest IS plastic, same goes for my ES300H, but they sure ride much better than the Prius, they sure feel more luxurious because the plastic is much better quality, they feel much more comfortable, they do have just about the same amount to cloth and plastic compared to the Prius except seats. Even the steering column covers are plastic, the main differences are they are made of much better quality plastics in many areas and much more craftsmanship and they have wood trimming. Of course the suspension is completely difference. I'm not saying this from pictures or hearsay but from experience. I bought the pip because I need to drive allot and the 18 extra mpg make a huge difference from the regular Prius (I used to get 49-51 mpg in the regular and 69-72 mpg in the pip). I feel I am stealing the thread form the op so pm if you want to discuss this further.
