Yo. I am among those concerned that GoF two-edged sword is way too sharp on the wrong side.

 

I think I have the Andromeda Strain squirreled away somewhere……

Because engineering is a big part of this thread, it's not only mechanical, electrical, chemical, vibrational, social, biological or thermal engineering, colloquially it includes classified or more commonly secrets engineering which in itself produces spying engineering, and the concept of systematic entropy. see also Jason Bourne as a crude example of the secret wars behind the scenes. Than there are the stories that trickle down to us possibly socially engineered and sold as the real story.

Don't you love when someone, anyone, uses the label engineer without qualifying it?

 

Never got interested in that series….
I looked in my local stacks and found that I do NOT have TAS 1.0 but rather the 50-year anniversary sequel, presently unread.

I’ll add TAS to my retirement projects.
