I wonder how long one of the Tesla trucks will be out in the wild before someone tries the sledgehammer and stone throwing tricks on it.

And all the pickup trucks with their noses 3 feet off the ground before they get lifted to 4 feet, how can they pass any pedestrian safety tests? I wonder if there are any for trucks.

You're right, the high bumper is a problem with trucks. Eventually underride guards will be required.

If you only sell your truck in the United States you don't need to meet regulations. For example, the Toyota Tacoma is replaced with the Hilux elsewhere in the world so it doesn't need to.

I imagine Tesla will want to sell their truck in Australia, Europe, and Japan, but maybe they will only sell it in the US.

Not EU and Japan but it would be a game changer in Africa, South America, and the Middle East.

Yeah I know, right? Traditional truck design is the most aerodynamically inefficient design out there. Of course when they created the tradition of what a truck is "supposed" to look like, they didn't know anything about aerodynamics and haven't change much in over a century. Total stick in the mud when it comes to progress!

What's makes your sentiment hilarious is that Tesla is the only vehicle maker successfully identifying and catching vandals in the act on a regular basis... Even a mayor got caught keying a car and had to resign...

North America and China will likely be primary markets they buy 40% of all vehicles and a larger percentage of this type of vehicle. In 2018 US, China, and Canada led all countries in pick up truck sales in that order, its a big chunk of the future market for electric pick ups.
