wow - I thought I'd never hear the end of it, when I jumped in 1st time it went over $600. "What were you thinking?!" She who must be obeyed will be getting a very very very subtle, "NOW look who's thinking is worth examining". Naah - those better be the inside words.

Nikola has a bit of a Theranos feel. Worth $20+ billion and no factory even? Serious? Actually going to be surprised if they ever mass produce anything.

I'm sure there is an example, but I can't think of one...but has there ever been a higher valued public company that hadn't had any revenue yet?

SHORTing NKLA is cheaper than driving to a casino and better odds.

true ...... & yet the interview he did with the difficulty getting Tesla on his feet? He acknowledged it nearly put him in the booby hatch. Glad he did it, & that it didn't destroy him.

This has been quite the day. If you can believe Google (and I don't) the market cap has pushed up past $200B today. I'd rather use the MacroTrends site for those calc's, which is always 1 day late in reporting.

Profits are still important. I guess I still want to pay for reasonably predictable future earnings. Plus a little fun.
Investigation into early S batteries still to come. CR's reliability ranking. Reputation damage?
Second wave of CV-19 slowing down US. Freemont may have another shutdown.
And 92k for all lines is only Rav4's sales for the first quarter.

Are you selling some, buying some or holding?

I've got a core that I'm holding but there is 10% I play with:
    • ~4 weeks ago, sold 10% at $1020 to establish a margin account
    • ~3 weeks ago, tried to SHORT the NKLA stock but none available
    • ~2 weeks ago, learned "borrowed" NKLA stock goes for ~300% annual interest
      • most NKLA is held by "insiders"
      • hypothesis: they are using the stock borrow 'interest' to fleece SHORT investors
      • the stock price has been pumped pending their fire sale
    • ~1 week ago, move 10% back at $990 with a small profit

none of the above, it's very impressive though. i wouldn't buy ford, gm or chrysler, that's for sure.

I’ve thought about buying some NKLA stock but setting the borrowing rate to half of the insider rate. Any income goes back into NKLA and a similar borrowing interest rate. Two cycles and out.

Still long Tesla at this price. Could it drop to $500 tomorrow? Absolutely. But long term there is no stopping Tesla now. You can find things wrong with the company, wrong with the cars, wrong with Elon. But finding faults doesn't mean it can't continue to go up. The progress of solar and batteries show that fossil fuels and the things they power now have a very short shelf life. In another few years you start to wonder what the resale of any ICE vehicles will be.

It’s interesting going back and reviewing some similar threads from 2012-2013 era.
The funnest ones, IMO, are those at the GM Volt forums.
There were some guys there that poked so much fun at Tesla. Not so much anymore :)

    A couple of data points:
    • $960/share - Friday June 26
    • 5 full trading days
    • $1,371/share - Monday July 6
Always at the back of my mind: Is this a SHORT squeeze?
