It is a common mistake to think that Martha Stewart went to jail for insider trading. She ended up just paying fines for these charges. She went to jail for obstruction of justice and lying to federal investigators. There were some pretty bald faced lies. In any case, after five months in jail, she's bounced back as a very successful businesswoman.
i was waiting for $400. i was also hoping to sell some energy stocks for the cash to buy tesla, but energy keeps going down as tesla goes up
oh ya, on a global level it's great. on a personal level, it's just preventing me from investing in tesla. no biggie, the future is still unclear...
Nice wake-up call: $926.56 at 11:41 AM. Nice review of short selling vs squeeze: 'managing book' - small trades to mitigate the price increase 'short squeeze' - when the stock loaner calls the margin . . . very rare So the recent increase in TSLA stock price may be nothing more than short holders managing their stock book. The effect is to bid up the price, like a squeeze, but not to a multiplier, 3-5x. Bob Wilson
I know it is tempting to look at Nikola as the next Tesla but physics says otherwise. The CEO of Nikola will be on Autoline After Hours Thursday afternoon. Elon is an optimist with a history of performing. In contrast, I would SHORT Nikola and not even blink. Bob Wilson
Please, this is not investment advice but I just put in an application for a margin account. IMHO, "NKLA" is badly over priced. So I'm thinking of letting some of my TSLA go which should give ~$4,000 base or ~$8,000 range to SHORT sell NKLA stock: hydrogen is too expensive - regardless of how it is manufactured, it will always have less energy content than the source. over out-sourced - their business plan is to out-source everything. no manufacturing facility - they don't even have a place to make product. hydrogen hype - the hydrogen advocates are due for "reality training." During the Civil War, General Lee said something like 'When your enemy is doing something stupid, don't stand in his way.' NKLA has a patent lawsuit against TSLA which makes them 'my enemy.' I have no problem with fleecing the foolish. Bob Wilson ps. I would also short "Blue Origin" except it isn't clear they have a public traded stock. I'm not in to SHORTing Amazon.
a lot of market money has been invested in tesla 'competitors', but i'm still waiting for a 'product'
So far, none of the honorable competition has sparked my interest. I'm remembering the software "BETA" wars of the 1980s. Bob Wilson
