Tired, I accidentally sold my small position at $650 instead of the planned, cut them in half. Oh well, I might have caught a local peak.

My next TSLA sell is posted at $790. I’ve sold all my ‘cheap’ TSLA at $420, $465, and $650. These covered Full Self Driving and paying off the bank note. So I’ll go just liability and self-maintenance. Shocking!

    A brief history:
    • Feb 28, 2019 - Tesla announces Std. Rng. Plus Model 3 for a reasonable cost. Autopilot was a $3k option and blue paint, $2k.
    • Mar 26, 2019 - Traded in 2017 Prius Prime, $18,300, and finance rest, 72 months, and paid down half to shorten payoff.
    • . . . - Benchmarking Model 3 ... WOW!
    • Stock instability - from a low of $180 to a high of $340 - based on benchmarks, bought TSLA in the $220-320 range
    • Sold TSLA at: $420(*), $465, and $650
    • . . . - Bought Full Self Driving at $6,000 a week before the price increased to $7,000. Waiting on HW3.
    • Currently have small tranche at $790 while waiting for a SHORT squeeze, meltdown
So all things considered, no regrets. You buy/sell with the information you have at the time. Overall, I give myself a solid "B":
    • I have a Model 3 with 19,142 miles after 10 months of ownership
      • next week, free and clear.
    • Others have finally begun to understand the Model 3 and the Tesla business plan, the stock has significantly increased.
      • About 25% of the stock float was held by SHORT sellers
      • SHORT sellers have lost all credibility
      • Latest data suggests ~20% of stock float held by SHORT sellers who 'borrowed' the shares
      • To cover their stock 'loan' they have to buy what is available and my next tranche is at $790
I do not recommend buying stock in a company that you've not bought their product. You really need to know if it is the real deal or sugar water. So recommended practice:
    1. Buy a used, new technology - I started with a 2014 BMW i3-REx, end-of-lease. If the new technology doesn't work, sell it for little or no loss.
    2. Buy a new, new technology - the lessons learned with the BMW in both EV and range-extender mode made buying the Model 3 a non-event. Trading in the 25 mi EV, 2017 Prius Prime with 16k miles was easy because it had become 'driveway art.' I was choosing to drive the 72 mi EV, BMW i3-REx nearly all the time.
    3. TSLA stock was under attack which led to significant price instability. Lying SHORT sellers are now between a rock and a hard place. They "borrowed" shares to sell at a high price expecting to buy good shares at a lower price. But at $650, the 'cheap' TSLA stock has evaporated. I have no sympathy for the SHORT sellers.

    * - Sold the stock so I could send a note to the SEC asking them to let Elon be Chairman of the Board and refund their fines. It is why I gave myself a "B".

What worked last year can easily be a disaster if repeated this year. You really want to make your best play.

If I were retired, would consider more active trading like Bob. At this point, sticking with the boring years to decades long hold strategy.

Will continue to make yearly purchases at this point, waiting at least a bit this year for a dip opportunity to present itself from our friendly shorts.

Closed Friday, $650, and opened $690+. I had a small tranche for sale at $790 so I moved it to $990. The VW "SHORT squeeze" saw nearly an order of magnitude jump before the board threw them a life-line.

I'm very long Tesla and not a seller yet at this price. Just preparing my head and heart for a 30% dip at some point in the next couple months. Might not happen, but hard to have this much up without a little down.

I’m taking a more conservative approach taking small profits now that I lock-in. But that is me.

    GOOD LUCK!

With a short squeeze, the down comes before the up.
The shorts have been doing a great job keeping the stock price down.
Now they are loosing their effectiveness & many are being forced out.

Will there be profit taking large enough to lower the price? Undoubtedly.
I don’t see more than a 30% downward adjustment without some other serious catalyst.
