since any given day the top 100 losers on NASDAQ will be over 2.8% lost ... the statistic of one day is meaningless.
pointing to a daily loss or a gain doesn't show success or failure. The same kind of fud existed here when the genII pri came out - then gas spiked & we all bided the trolls bye bye. But thanks anyway for the death watch.
    Deja vu.

kind of a feelbad moment for poor @Lucifer who tries & tries to keep the fud flowing. But after the fud mongers ended up loosing their main short bolstering fake news champion?

Larry Fossi(L) - big oil / fund investor / manager ... go figure
    [IMG]

you kinda almost feel sorry for him now ... turns out most folks will just read the fud - smile & post, "really? that's nice" ... all the while feeling sorry that he'd rely on someone so dishonest for his linked sources - or alternatively the fake sources' sources. All this - just to get a reaction from pc members that hope to up automitive efficiency. What a great guy.

I wonder about the motivation behind a person that labels news from 5e NASDAC site written by Reuters as fake news.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the idea that this is potentially a major problem for Tesla.

At an MSRP of $41,500 -- make sure to tack on $1500 to pick a color, by the way, and add $7500 when calculating the sales tax -- the Model 3 brings very, very little to the table. That is with the Premium Interior.

Without Premium interior, at an MSRP of $36,200 -- which I believe goes up next July? -- it is hard to imagine what exactly they will be offering. I'm hoping it still comes with wheels at that price!

But then, perhaps I underestimate the perceived value of Tesla's Brand. Worded differently, how many are willing to pay the price premium to be a Tesla Owner™?

To sum up my feelings regarding Tesla: Elon's behavior, Tesla's accounting practices, the Kimbal/SolarCity bailout, vehicle reliability, and vehicle value "bang for buck" all leave much to be desired. Model S is a very nice car though.

Yes, prices went up yesterday. AWD increased $1000. Premium color went up by $500. Destination charge increased by $200. Sales tax is charged on every car of whatever make and is usually not included in sales price because it is so variable from State to State. But regardless, the base model 3 will start at $35K.
I haven't heard anything about the base model 3 going up in price next July. Where does that come from? What model 3 won't include is a stealership.
Tesla is still rated highest in customer satisfaction by CR. I imagine they will try to keep that rating despite the introduction of a new model with growing pains. As far as "how many are willing to pay?" It is >500K for the model 3 alone.
The same can be said for any automaker, particularly when it comes to their addiction to the ICE. They leave MUCH to be desired.

You seem to have gotten bad information, and then state it as fact.
Lots of buyers seem to disagree with your opinion that the Model 3 brings “very little” to the table.

The base model does come with wheels:rolleyes:. It has the short range battery pack (215 mile range). Without the premium package the center panel in the roof is metal rather than glass and the wood veneer on the dash is a different material. I believe it will be textile seats rather than leather (vegan). Instead of making silly guesses just ask, there are plenty here that can give you better info.

The base model is currently set for roll out in December with volume production 1st quarter.

So what color ARE you getting?

people complaining the most - likely want it the most - frustrated - praying their complaints will cause 100's of thousands to stop waiting - get out of line - so they can get their's quicker.
    How 's that working ...

Someone here mentioned that electric is the efficiency drug. We 1st drooled over the 2004 Prius for its crazy high efficiency. Took nearly ½ a year into '04 to finally snag one used. Then late 2010 the drooling was for the leaf. But then it's still not enough - you still need more. Tesla raised the addiction / more power / more safety / more range / more geek features / more fast-chargers - the fast chargers .... they're like little crack dealers! The more you get, the more you want. LED lights, solar ....
Hopefully BP & Mobile oil will help sponsor a rehab for the addicts.
