    That's...one way to put it.

Long term, it will hurt Tesla. When others can market and sell Level 3 or 4 systems in their cars, Tesla will be stuck calling FSD Level 2.

CR gives bonus points to the ADAS rating for manufacturers that have a 'full' driver observation system. In the future, they will deduct points from those that don't have it. Only Ford, GM, and maybe Mercedes meet their criteria for the bonus points.

You are laughing at what an AI system showing what it 'sees' of the world with a limited graphics library. Displaying what the car sees may give the driver a sooner warning of when they will need to intervene. I am aware of no other manufacturer doing this.
The Outback is Level 2, just like Autopilot and FSD. I have never compared its capabilities to that of a Tesla's, but it has the same functions as Autopilot on paper. Defeating the driver monitoring systems on it, and other Level 2 systems is possible for the fools that want to join the fools doing so in Teslas.

Returning from a Tunica casino, 5 miles out with my hand on the wheel, FSD gave me a disconnect ‘strike’ and declared I must manually drive or use Autopilot. No specific reason beyond some generic abuse. So I drove home on Autopilot.

I can recommend Full Self Driving for masochists who miss the harangue of their last marital partner. But it is motivating me to make the ultimate, FSD driving assistant:
