Yep, not good. I look forward to hearing what happened with the build on that one.
On the other hand, my Y and my wife's have been great and we haven't needed to refuel either away from home yet :)

If fuel is the only thing I need to worry about, I’ll take that over any quality issues. By the way we have been fueling for the last 100 years. No biggie. (y)

I saw a Porsche Panamera split in half on the Porsche forum due to some claimed build issue.

We just met a new Y owner a few weeks back. He was very happy with it. (He even noted his current method of charging available at home is the regular 120V outlet, which does not serve to fill the battery overnight if it is drained significantly. Luckily I realized he lives in a city with a Supercharger station). Most Tesla owners are happy. One we've met had a complaint which compelled her to say goodbye. This was quite surprising, as most cars have it. The person was a lady, and her complaint was when she flipped down the sun visor to open the mirror, there was no light to illuminate in the dark. Even non-luxury cars have this. She said eventually something she couldn't live with.

Do you mind me asking if this is true for your Ys? (My wife has a reservation for a 7 seater, and the Cybertruck)...

    moto g(7) power ?

I can’t say I know if it does or not.
I’ll check tomorrow though and let you know.

I saw a car carrier driving on the freeway and a back window flew off of one of the cars and crashed on the freeway. Since it wasn't a company that gets front page news scrutiny over every tiny detail, the only attention it got was a few drivers shrugging, then driving on. It happens to one Tesla car and everyone all over the world talks about it "this can't be good for Tesla"

Meanwhile, Ford stops the sale of its popular PHEV Ford Escape and tells 26000 customers not to plug it in! And there's barely a mention in the press. No one is talking about it.

I'd be far more concerned for Ford than for Tesla. It is more trendy to talk trash about Tesla, though, I guess.

    hopefully you won't be feeling your hydrogen when the station explodes, as this one did;

But who knows, maybe someday, now that there are well over a million Tesla's on the road, one of the superchargers may have some kind of major event like that.

We haven't been fueling with high pressure gas for a hundred years. It is not the same has dispensing liquids.

Without all the safety sensors and automation, we wouldn't dare let the public near handling hydrogen pumps.

I'd by-far rather handle high pressure hydrogen than gasoline.

they're up ~400% ... for the year fyi.
That said, the Ford engineer apparently had nothing to back up with his Tesla complaints as he pulled the statement. Before it was pulled though he said this:
well if his Aficionado status comes from Ford electrics cars, I'm not sure, what was that one EV they had a Focus? Oe the ford ranger back in the 1990s? Not sure - as those short-range Ev's are certainly passe for the most part nowadays.

This article says that Ford has no electric vehicles.
How Many Electric Vehicles (EVs) Has Ford Sold? | Cash Flow Based Dividends Stock Screener

I'm sure they made something, even though it may have been a couple decades ago once upon a time.
But the so-called ford electric car engineer claimed to have worked on Ford's latest project. Hopefully it will have done better than the 20yrs ago Ranger ... since it's recharging infrastructure will be limited by the other companies that are oh so slowly building it out. Still I wish Ford's latest project much success.
One things for sure .... taking cheap shots a company that's doing something, while the other company is hardly doing much - is more likely to get business for the competition - than for your future project.

iduno .... if you considered the handful of hand-built hydrogen cars, divided into the number of hydrogen dispensing/ manufacturing explosions versus gas burner/ manufacturing / dispensing explosions divided into the hundreds of millions of cars, I would say the hydrogen explosions are far more frequent per capita.

    https://www.usfa.fema.gov/downloads/pdf/statistics/v19i2.pdf

"Approximately one in eight fires responded to by fire departments across the nation is a highway vehicle fire. This does not include the tens of thousands of fire department responses to highway vehicle accident sites."

"Each year, from 2014 to 2016, an estimated 171,500 highway vehicle fires occurred in the United States, resulting in an annual average of 345 deaths; 1,300 injuries; and $1.1 billion in property loss."

There are so many, you hardly hear about it.

You likely know what you are doing.

The public includes people inflate tires to bursting, and those using gasoline to light grills. Would you want them manually filling a hydrogen car without pressure and temperature monitoring?

No, but I wouldn't want to use a gasoline hose without an automatic shutoff either.

Hey, you haven't even mentioned the Forbes article telling Ford to abandon the car models part of their business to focus on vans and commercial vehicles and trucks. SUVs were only a maybe.

I doubt there's 26k "customers" because with covid delays the vehicles have only recently been hitting California dealers lots; none here in Texas yet (just hybrids). Most likely total built in the pipe line on trucks and on lots. Or Ford has a new runaway best seller on their hands..... ;)

It has been selling in Europe for a while now (the Ford Escape is called a Kuga in Europe).

How many recalls has Tesla announced? A company that won’t voluntarily recall is trying to cover up their problems. At least Polstar did the right thing with their recall. I appreciate their honesty and doing what’s right for the customer.
