How many Americans don’t have that availability? Apartment owners/renters, condo renters/owners, Mobil park renters/owners. Home use Chargers are not available for everyone.

 

Yet we have thousands of advertisements and agencies in this country

 

is that what advertising is for? Seems toyota/Lexus was trying to falsely smear the competition ... which primarily happens when your own product can't stand on its own merits .... so Toyota had to make stuff up.

Nothing false there. Did Tesla sue, did Nissan sue, did GM sue?

 

A host of exciting electric vehicles are on the horizon. A few include the Audi e-tron GT, Audi e-tron Sportback, BMW i4, Lucid Air, Mercedes-Benz EQC, Mercedes-Benz G-Class Electric, Volkswagen ID 4, Tesla Roadster, Rivian R1T, and Rivian R1s. Unfortunately, while these electric vehicles will look to expand the growing number of entries in the world of battery-powered machines, it’s unlikely that they’ll help consumers make the switch. More options, even if they’re more affordable and have more range, don’t fix the issue of consumer knowledge.

 

That's the point. General advertising is the least effective means. When a company can't get the desired goal for free, they pay for it.

 

Or the company is running in the red and can’t afford a PR division.

Unclear what mythical company you reference. However, Tesla has had 4 consecutive quarters of profitability and has been making continued massive investments in infrastructure including gigafactories and their charging network.

no one believed it - so - no damages. Proof of no damages come in the way of ever increasing EV sales ... even getting in line for the next offering;

27,000 in the middle of a lockdown job losses pandemic .... whereas the hydrogen car & truck & bus industry - ALL manufacturers, would do cartwheels w/ those numbers .... even over the next 5 years, during 100% healthy world scenario.

And how many do? I would guess millions. Now, how many have the capability to charge a FCEV at home?

So - why be surprised that some don't know of Tesla ...
Dealerships are an old form of protectionism - originally preventing "Manufacturers" from competing w/ dealerships. Now the dealerships fear Tesla, so they sue to keep 'em out. From Wike;

Despite Manufactuers & dealerships trying to keep people ignorant of Teslas . . . . there have been DMV registered teslas in every state for over a half decade now.


so - the fact that the author reports some state citizens are ignorant of Tesla ... and the fact of crony dealerships attempts to keep them out ... hasn't kept Tesla down. it just means Tesla sales are driven by word of mouth in those states.

TSLA stock:

I put half of my 401k money in TSLA stock at ~$60/share adjusted for the 5-to-1 split. It closed Friday at $434/share. Other recent news:

• Tesla Shanghai plant is producing Teslas.
• Tesla Berlin factory is up to walls and roof. Production starts in 2021
