How many of Boeing's recent products (737max) fell out of the sky because jet engines & software were redone. Few stopped flying & no auto manufacturer stopped tinkering w/ their product or putting new software in cars. There is a nexus.

But hindsight allows us to say "we should have tested it better" ... yet here we are.

Regression testing, looking for obscure faults, is difficult to impossible. Some of the Ada programming advocates they could build it into the language ... never happen GI.

My LG G5 cost me $130 (new old stock on eBay), replacing the battery was $20 (Amazon - DIY) and replacing the USBc connector was $15 (Amazon - DIY). Buying a previous generation phone can be very cost effective.

Just like video games with DLC and MTX. They’re just “continuously improved” rather than shipping a finished game in the first place?

Sure. But the LEAF, Soul, Niro and Prius Prime all beat Tesla to the punch in offering a heat pump in their vehicles. (By 3-5 years might I add. You’d think the Model 3 would be launched with one given it’s a brand new model).

Also, they have a backup resistive heater but the Teslas don’t.

Those are all valid points. At least the Tesla electric cars haven't had concerns with the possibility of its wheels falling off. What manufacturer hasn't had its Achilles heel type of moments

But they’ll steer you into a bike lane bollard or a centre divider. What’s your point? We’re gonna harp on everything? What’s next, SUA?

Edit: Bah. Sorry for sounding rude.

How many 727s had any flight automation even remotely resembling the automation of the latest 737s or Teslas? My understanding was that they were not anywhere remotely close to auto-taxi, auto-take-off, auto-land, auto collision avoidance, etc.

When comparing against the new software in cars, the 727 autopilot seems most analogous to the dumb cruise controls of cars four and five decades ago, with rudder control to stay on point in a particular direction.

    Thanks!

So far I've not gotten Mr. Google to locate a copy of the subpoena. The term "documents" is more than a little vague. Knowing what they are asking for goes a long way to explaining their problem.

Anyone have a clue or URL to find the Tesla subpoena?
