Besides being clear you should consider answering the diagnostic questions people ask you.

"See if the radiator fans come on with the ac. They should." If my radiator fans did not come on, the engine would be as hot as yours.

Finally, if your gen4 engine has an electric water pump, it came from a Prius.

So drove it around and it stayed between 195 and 203 the fans do kick on when you turn on the AC so they are working it is still odd to me that although the temperature is within normal range the lower radiator hose is still cold maybe it's just not hot enough I don't know but the car is operating normally.

195F - 203F is good. Can't say I have ever felt the lower radiator hose when the engine has been running but a radiator's job is to remove heat from the coolant.

I’ve asked this before, and promptly forgotten. Anyways, is this right:

Lower rad hose runs from pump (and thermostat), to the rad, and will be more-or-less cold until thermostat opens and pump is working?

It's right, except if you're tagging along with the coolant, to you it runs from the bottom of the rad to the thermostat and pump.

I think I can call this a successfull Swap. That being said here is a casualty. What is this? Should I replace it or just Cover it. Looks like a grease fitting. on the trans. IMG_20210311_125738.jpg

I get upper and lower mixed up on a Prius. ChapmanF is right, and so are you Mendel. The lower hose brings coolant from the radiator when the thermostat opens. If it's closed, it stays cold. The coolant line from the EGR cooler bypasses the thermostat and is always open and should get hot fast. This hot coolant should open the stat as long as there's not a big air bubble hiding behind the stat insulating it.

I believe it's a vent for the trans. Mendel?
    It's not a grease fitting.

Drove the car last night for 150 miles it went well. no codes or funny noises. I will clean things up and put under cover back on and call it good. Of note while I had the engine out I inspected the damper and noticed these little peg looking things inside of the springs does any one know what im talking about and what their purpose is? One more thing is there any benefit to using the old intake? I under stand you can use it with some slight changes. If so can anyone point me in the right direction.

My Saga continues. the cooling issue is resolved. but now that dreaded misfire on #4 is back. I took it to the mechanic and he says there are no codes and the car is not misfiring. he suggests cleaning EGR. I moved coils sparks and put in new fuel injectors. The problem stayed on four. I will clean the EGR and intake again just to make sure. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Tough one, everything considered. Hate to say it, but revisit the head gasket?? That’s like open-heart surgery round two though. :(

the symptoms are mild barely noticeable but odb reader says misfire and I can feel it. Plus this is a new engine only 10k miles on it.
