I liked the old one better too. But, the new one is more durable. When i took my 04 to be cleaned, somehow they managed to chip the paint on the glove compartment door.
yes, you are probobly right about that, although my trim still looks brand new. I don't like the rough surface of the new trim at all. I thought the dashboard plastic on '04-'05 was already very rough and hard to clean and now the new trim is even rougher. Reminds me of an ugly shoe sole
The only thing I don't like about the interior is the (kind of) cheesy looking wood grain texture...If they had left it like the front dash, it'd be perfect
It's plastic, but if you look at the grooves, it kind of looks like wood grain/shapes. Maybe I was just hallucinating... Anyway, point to the store, I don't like all the little grooves... But somehow, I'll make it work
I've had my 06 barcelona red for not quite a month and I love it. I was thinking about some minor things I dont' like or things I wish it had. For one, I like how the radio/stereo stays on when I turn off the Windstar until the door is opened. If you want to listen for a minute or two before you exit, you don't have to decide whether to turn the car off and then quickly turn acc on and miss 5 seconds or just leave the car running. Of course with the Prius in park, unless it's real cold or you leave the heat on, it usually just sits there in electric. Also I miss the auto headlights, but since the headlights go off when you open the door, it's almost the same effect. I would also like to have a compass. Maybe that comes with the NAV, but I wouldn't want to pay 4 grand just for a compass. (and I don't like those cheap stick on the dash ones. do they even still make those?) But I really have to go searching for nits to pick with this automobile.
On the steering wheel...Heck, a picture says a thousand words, right? [Broken External Image]:http://brocknet.net/images/Prius Interior Texture.jpg
hihih, I would have never associated it with wood grain. Since that surface is small it doesn't bother me as much as the whole dashboard with grooves. And that's exactly what I am talking about on '06 the whole trim has grooves
It reminds me of dried wood...Like driftwood at the beach. It's not a big deal, just not the texture I would've picked. I like the way the front dash looks. More like round pebbles...
I don't like any of the textures in the Prius '05 and '06. I've seen way nicer textures than that. That's all. Prius textures are too rough for me
Hmmm, I'm 5'9", no problems. None of the run over the neigbor's kid variety, and I don't have problems with cars near me on the freeway either. Of course, I learned to drive with my father the taxi driver, so looking around and tracking every moving object on the road is just instinctual......
OK new summary: people 5'5" and below - NO blind spots people 5'5" and above- MAJOR blind spots with two exceptions at 5'9" and 6'3"
You bought a serious milege car, not a top of the line Honda Accord. Granted, Toyota could have dressed up the interior differently. All in all for the $23,830 I paid for this car it's worth every buck. I dressed up the steering wheel & armrest with leather. I would have liked leather power seats.
The Prius is HUGE compared to my former Saturn coupe. But still can fit into small parking spaces pretty darned easily thanks to the exterior design.
