A lovely reliable and iconic vehicle devalued by thieving scum - the latter indirectly aided and abetted by an incompetent government who in the name of austerity decided that ordinary citizens should endure a heavily reduced budget police force that are totally ineffective. Thank you Maybot! iPhone 6s +
You guys voted for the guy, so your getting what you voted for. Meanwhile in China in a lot of cities children have never seen the stars in the sky from the pollution. But let your progressive leaders tax you into the poor house for an attempt to look enlightened to the world. You get the government you vote for and this is how you Londoner’s voted.
I didn’t vote for him. I haven’t met anybody who admits voting for him. But then, I live in a city overrun with strange people who would never have managed the same feat in a lot of other western cities in the civilised world. People who live in London but hate the British way of life and seek to change it. Perhaps THEY voted for him. Most indigenous Londoners did not. iPhone 6s +
All I can tell you is when the guy is up for re-election get all your Prius cat stolen friends out and campaign for someone else. Someone who wants law and order and not tax people who drive regular cars.
For sure but during elections promises are made but how many actually fulfil them? Boris the new pm said 20,000 new police will be put. I may be wrong but his own party cut down police numbers earlier. When Teresa was Home office minister. Reality Check: What has happened to police numbers? - BBC News It’s one thing to promise during campaigns and another to deliver. Not arguing that the current mayor has made motorists cash cows with new and fancy schemes of taxing them.
I bet, if those catalytic converter thieves were suddenly violently attacked by an irate and “plainly tiffed” mob (of otherwise mild-mannered chaps) angry at the criminal antics of these freeloading vermin, the local constabulary wouldn’t only turn up in multiple riot vans with truncheons a-swinging and tasers cackling, they’ll be accompanied by at least one police helicopter filming proceedings from the sky, and the angry “mob” (read peeved Prius owner + participating family + friends) will suddenly themselves arraigned before a stony faced magistrate so fast, they’ll be in the clink before sundown! Otherwise, the thieves seem to have free reign of London and its environs these days. Dare you fight for your rights, you’ll be wantonly tasered into the afterlife by law enforcement. Our leaders have totally lost control of the streets. This is the new normal. (Also known as “Shut up and pay your taxes”)!!! This country needs an enema! iPhone 6s +
What about the newer models? Doesn't the latest generation have the cat very close to or even integrated in de exhaust manifold? That would make it a lot harder to steal or wouldn't it? Even here in the Netherlands there are more and more reports of stolen cats but Toyota still tells that they haven't heard of widespread cat theft...
Wrong. YOU have lost control of your streets. Stop complaining and start doing something other than whining here. If you don’t trust people to vote for, run for office yourself You know a 6 cell mag light is one hell of a club and nobody can fault you for having one in your car. You hold it up by the bulb, shine the very bright light in their eyes to blind them then wack them over the head with the tail end.
Theres been reports of gen3 CAT's being stolen on this forum, Also the gen3 and gen4 are FAR more expensive than the gen2. unless youve got 10k spare you wont be getting a gen3
The home-grown copy cat brigade will see the 'Hybrid' badge and think all their Christmases have arrived at once. I personally know of a Honda Civic hybrid that has been raped. It matters not if the car is a Toyota Prius, a Honda Civic or a Moskvitch-2142R5. If they see the 'Hybrid' badge adorned on it the '£££' signs appear in their tiny brains and off they go, cutter in hand. It's all very depressing. Very depressing indeed.
Dumb? They’re pathologically incompetent. Thick as a Sequoia tree trunk, harbouring the I.Q. of a stunted potato. The original Grand Theft CAT gang were spiriting the stolen cats out of the country to the continent for smelting, so they could directly extract the priceless Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium. I suspect these home grown baboons are in touch with their agents - who pose as clandestine recyclers. There’s legislation and protocols in place banning genuine recyclers from accepting stolen cats. iPhone 6s +
The issue is not official recycling facilities there are back street garages melting these down. I saw the pics on Facebook someone was advertising cat wanted and with pics how they deal with them. Obviously they were reported.
Catalytic converter theft: how to protect your car - Toyota The above makes for interesting reading, BRAND NEW Prius cars are having them stolen.
Also interesting to read that some Cats have even been stolen from cars fitted with an official Toyota Catloc underneath. Reading the replies under the article shows just how many are being stolen on a daily basis (and that is just those who leave a message) probably many more. Many many Auris models being targeted as well. Toyota's replies to these thefts are pitifully pathetic.
