I've seen my first one in Brooklyn NY this week and a few up on Cape Cod this August. I have not seen a solar sunroof yet and that's what I ordered in July, sight unseen. Promised delivery around Christmas.
Go to Marin County North of San Francisco ... Gen III's outnumber the people there. One in Fremont ... The more I see, the better.
Have only seen 2 Gen IIIs here in SE Michigan, besides my own. No surprise as I get plenty of harassment from friends and family about buying it.
I wonder if anyone has Prius sales data divided by state or region. Here in Indianapolis and burbs, I don't see much gen 3 (I think 3-4 only so far), in fact, I don’t see much Prius from any generation at all. In the other hand, in the Madison area, Wisconsin, I'm very pleasedto see several Prius all over the place, many of which gen 3, but also several from previous generations. Well, Madison is a lot e greener than Indianapolis in many aspects, so I guess the culture influences the people's attitude. I don't know...
I went to Borders this afternoon. You'll never believe what I saw. Not just another Gen3 or even just two. I saw this: Yes, they are all Gen3 Blue Ribbon Metallic. (Yes, that is mine in the foreground.) And, YES, this is Midwestern suburbia, where elections are decided in the primaries -- the Republican primaries.
I wish I had been holding a real camera and not just my iPhone. With the sun almost directly into the camera, it was a challenge! (The trick to making the photoshop thing work was getting different tires and wheels on the cars, don't you think. )
I see them daily and I don't drive much these days as I work from home 100%. They are not hard to find but definitely in the minority. In my area, I'd guess 9 of 10 cars on the road are GM/Ford/Chrysler. Very different from So. Ca. where I used to live.
Don't you wish the iPhone camera was a lot better? I can't count how many times I had to take a quick picture on the go but the quality ended up poor. I have the 3G, maybe the 3GS has improved it...
