Steering wheel vinyl coming off

If it doesn't have Softer what does it have?

 

Good 'ol plastic?

 

Probably more integral skin polyurethane, but close.

Our bare bones basic 2010 has the integral skin steering wheel and after 193 k miles, still looks decent. A bit of texture fade over time, but it’s good enough without any sections missing.

 

Anybody have luck with a steering wheel cover?

I just bought a generic steering wheel cover last night, and it was way too big for my 2018 Premium. It fit my 2009 Matrix no problem, so that's where it will stay. But considering how often I turn, rotating my palm around the 12 o clock position, I definitely want a cover for the Prime. I burn through steering wheel covers like crazy in my other rigs. Luckily, the Prime is going to be driven primarily by my wife.

I'm getting my steering wheel replaced (I think, for free!) for the exact same reason. It took me a little less than 4 years for for this to occur to me. Should I expect this to recur again on the new steering wheel? Do any of you recommend covering the steering wheel, and what would be the best product? I have the 2017 Advance model with heated steering wheel.

 

Wow, that sucks! I've been lucky -- the 2017 I purchased with 60K miles has no damage to the wheel.

However, I think I will buy a cover. I like this one with the blue thread,
