We got a foot of snow and saw two little Kia Souls stuck in ditches and even a Tesla stuck in a ditch. Also saw a Ford Explorer that must've spun and ran right into a telephone pole...major damage to that thing!!!
All the tire stores will be VERY busy this week as folks decide they might need decent tires here!

I'm in Palm Springs, California this week. Really freaky town for throwback architecture, people and cars.

Today's treasure was a 6th generation Cadillac Sedan De Ville in showroom condition.

...I don't even like GM cars and I was quite taken with the sight of this thing. Whole chunks of this town are time capsules from the early 90s.

I had to re-read twice to see that you actually wrote “throwback people” haha.

When I was in the UK, I saw a lot of PHEVs and EVs. The most common was the MG4. Saw a 330e Touring, a C300de ( yes, a diesel PHEV also wagon), iX3, Enyaq, MG5 EV wagon, e:Ny1. Rode in the LEVC TX (their PHEV London cabs).

And I saw a Ferrari Purosangue.

I honestly don't know how else to put it. I certainly haven't met everyone here, but the handful of chatty uber drivers and strangers I've run into really seem like they're from a different time.

Same with Palm Desert - next door neighbors to the South/East. One of my wife's childhood friends, a retired FBI agent (she has a 2nd home there - & she still sports a 40cal in her purse) is like stepping back to the days of president kennedy. Freaky describes more than just the mid-century modern look all around. She tells us there's a higher than average 'look the other way' attitude to creepypedo activity. splane that mr wizard

A Honda S2000 and a Cybertruk actually towing something. It was for a business. People won't miss the ad wrap on it.

Oh saw a cyber truck yesterday, just rolling down our nearby Lansdowne Drive in a line of traffic. What an odd duck.

I'm fresh back from a week of maximum sunshine and minimum responsibility in the Caribbean.

As is typical on little islands, all cars were imports, most of them were tiny and not the same ones available in US or major European markets.

Lots of Toyota Agyas, Honda Citys, Hyundai Grands, the odd Daihatsu Terios or Suzuki Celerio. EVs were represented by a sole Tesla 3, and hybrids repped by a sole Prius c.

Many without pollution controls, or at least with much less than we now depend on in the USA. It definitely smelled like the 1970s when you got near a road.

I rode in a few different cars as taxi services- highlight was probably the Hyundai Staria van. Looked good and gave a fantastic ride. Nice interior too.

I had a ride in a Changan UNI-K SUV. Tough to tell it wasn't an Equinox or CX-50. Now that the big-brand crossovers are so similar, it's pretty easy for anyone else to blend in I guess.

We almost took a ride in a Haval H6 except it failed to start. Beautiful interior, better than most SUVs & crossovers owing to choice of colors and materials. I think it was out of gas, but who knows? We didn't exactly stick around for the result.

Oh and there was a Hyundai H-100 Kei truck that I almost snuck into my luggage. Really fit my idea of a useful truck for an exurb homeowner.

Cadillac ELR. Those things were CAD$80,000 when new! Insanely expensive at the time. (Volt was $40k by comparison)

Also a Jaguar XE 20d. An XE is rare on its own. Then add the diesel option.
