Avalon Hybrid Limited (Never sold in Canada so it must've been a US import)

    F360 Modena Spider

    Mercedes-Maybach (couldn't tell if it was the S580 4Matic or the S680 4Matic)

Looks like it has a bit of Mark IV flavor.

Wouldn't surprise me if they accumulate there. Shipped in new, but for some odd reason nobody's managed to drive them out of the state....

Kalispell Harbor Freight - a Gen II Rav4-ev. Pretty rare - only 2,500 or so. Montana plates. With it's measly 110 miles or so range - it must have been flat bedded up here to Montana. Irony is it has Tesla guts - seeing it was electrified by Tesla. There is one person In the San Diego area that has mod'ed it to the Tesla NACS with huge amounts of technical know-how being required. I do Iike that 2013 body style.

    Alfa Romeo 146

RHD 3rd 4Runner SR5 (I guess someone added the SR5 badge? Or it’s not from Japan but some other RHD country that uses the SR5 trim level)

Ferrari 296 GTB. Saw two. Not sure if it’s the same one or two distinct ones.

About 5 Prius c's while driving through the Baltimore MD & D.C. area. Seems like they're much more popular in this area than anywhere else I've been except Japan.

And a rough old Corvair, driving just fine under its own power.

I saw a Jeep J-20, the real Gladiator. It was parked in a lot for a repair company. Made me think of how lame the nu-Gladiator is, the Fiat thing.

Anyway, I'm in the process of fluffing up my dad's neglected Cherokee to sell it off.

Saw this drool-worthy Corvette, next cul-de-sac over:

Should have taken a front shot; the air scoop on the flank is gargantuan. Cooling air for rear wheels??

The grills in rear fairing are actually functional I think.

In Los Angeles again for a bit.

I spotted a white Prius Prime abandoned on the shoulder of CA-14 NB this morning.

I failed to identify a small SUV/Crossover car, about the size of a Buick Enclave but it was in a stunning green color. So maybe an Alfa Romeo or maybe just a wrap job on that little Caddy? Hard to say. Whether it's custom, exotic or merely unusual I love L.A. for car spotting!

I've rented a VW Taos on this trip. I was disappointed after having reserved "Camry or similar" and was totally hoping to check out a '25 Camry.

That said, it's not terrible as far as blobby small SUVs go. The old-school liftgate brings me joy, no waiting for a motorized gadget to open and close it, and not too heavy to do it all by hand.

The auto stop/start is extremely graceful- 95% as smooth as a Prius. Really makes GM look bad with the way theirs bucks and jerks.

I think the throttle is way too twitchy. Clearly optimized for somebody who likes doing surprise lane changes, which is ...not me.

Oh, and I had my first ride in a RAV4 prime, my buddy's new car. It was obviously quieter than my brother-in-law's gas RAV4 but other than that it seemed the same.

Okay, today was a proper treat.

I did a 20ish mile drive to get from accommodations to jobsite this morning, and during this one 25 minute trip I saw:

    • Some Teslas, apparently not everyone in California has ditched them over politics yet. One had a stunning paint or wrap job with an absolutely flat matte finish. Looked pretty good.
    • Chevy Volt! It's been quite a while since I'd seen one.
    • Cadillac Lyriq
    • Toyota BZ4X
    • Hyundai Nexo fuel cell car
    • Two electric Mustang Machs
    • 2020ish McLaren GT
    • Two surviving Pontiac Vibes, proof of their indestructibility
    • ...and a BYD potato chip van.

Doubt it was very special, but certainly I'm guessing it was old? Isuzu & I think the model was a trooper? Hadn't seen that manufacturer for at least a decade it seems. Where would you go to fix something like that.
