Ok fine. But just know I was referring to the fact that it does have notches (like the Gen 2).

Well that would make sense. I wonder if that would improve pedestrians being struck? Here in Indy, many pedestrians have been ran down in the early morning. If the front helps im that respect, then I can accept that. It does look weird but for crash test, okay it is distracting.

Yup, not exactly a bumper. And when they get you in parallel park situation, you get two license plate bolt impressions.

I think the safety feature you're thinking of is the newly announced "Pedestrian Awareness System". According to the press release, "...sounds a tonal disharmonic at a constant, 40 decibels any time the vehicle is operating purely on electric propulsion." It went on to compare the sound to a tornado warning alarm, only noticeably louder, and using tones known to initiate seizures and involuntarily dislodge bowels.

This sounds like a great safety feature!

make a good cop car, they wouldn't have to add that cow pusher to the front.

I am picky but my wife understands my love of vehicles. I've got gasoline in my blood, grease under my fingernails and love, love, love to drive. Prius gives me the opportunity to drive as cheaply as possible without going to a BEV or FCV.

It's legal to get the best mileage possible. Isn't it all about efficiency? So I can't go 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds. Big deal. I can't haul tons of stuff. Big deal, again. What I like doing is seeing how far I can go on a tank of fuel.

Picky? Yes I am, down to the gas and oil I use in my Prius. I use Top Tier gasoline, if you don't know about it then google it.

Sorry, I am picky. I don't like spending more than I have to. But don't get me wrong, I spend well and usually am happy with any of my purchases. Be picky, chose well and you will spend less money.

No sir, we dated for eight months and I couldn't live without her. That was thirty something years ago. She still looks as good as the day we married.

She is the picky one. I am lucky she picked me. But being picky has one drawback. That would be decision making.

Of course we did. The ones that got picked apart never made it. We all know personality wins our hearts in the end, but still, there has to be some level of physical attractiveness that your spouse has met (or continues to meet.)

Same for me but my wife looks better today than she did 33 years ago when we met.

Lexus did it because these are fast cars, meaning many people will look at their rear.

I wonder how fast is this new 4 Gen :p

Our '13 HyCam has the "Pedestrian Awareness System". The first time I hear the noise I thought I was watching nack to the future again. It is a weird whirring sound but at a low volume. The idea is to get a little attention without being obtrusive. It is all the above.

The -really funny- part about car design is that most cars on the road today are more aerodynamic going backwards! Think teardrop shape. So a larger nose -might- improve aerodynamics. ;)

I presume the "pedestrian awareness system" referred to is the same as the one on the GIII, put there for the blind. My neighbors keep watching to see when my car will hover.

With a large nose I suspect it's a bit hard to get both good crash protection and good sight lines at the same time.

The pedestrian awareness system seems like a good argument for keeping the 2010 till I can no longer drive.
