I also remember Toyota's explanation for not having a 3-row version of the current Rav4, they stated that the previous Gen Rav4 only sold about 5000 copies of the 3-row.

It wasn't that great of a car, given the likely buyers of a car with a third row of seats. It had the step-height, doors, ride, and handling of a small truck. The Mazda is more like a small minivan. Low step height, sliding doors, smooth ride. The only thing we liked about the 4-Runner was 4WD. But that wasn't enough.

I almost bought a 2012 Venza AWD instead of the Acura tsx. I think it is a car on a 4WD platform

The salesman told us the same thing, We had two RAV's over four years. One was front wheel and the other was All Wheel Drive. My wife liked the AWD better than the front wheel drive. They were both good vehicles. She hated it when I called them trucks. They were convenient to take to get anything. Sand, peat moss, topsoil, fertilizer and we even got a two stage snowthrower in the back.

I like that Sienta. That is a great looking small van. Why wouldn't Toyota bring that to the States?

The Volt felt like I was in a glove - very nice if I was going to do a lot of single person driving, but not very passenger friendly. Plus the arrogant salesperson told me the price was $4K above MSRP because the demand was so high, so take it or he could sell it to the next guy in line. Not long after the price adjustment became -$4k. Nice job GM - piss off people who had an interest in your car by misjudging the demand.
415 still sucks for an ice - and I wouldn't bet on 415 going 80 mph.

I was waiting for the Prius minivan, but that never happened. Prius v was close, but I didn't need a minivan anymore by the time the "v" came out, and it wouldn't have been enough either - need those 7 seats.

So now range at 80 mph is what matters?? There must be a lot more need to drive 500-600 miles non-stop at 80 mph than I'd ever imagined.

I have driven 360 miles non-stop through heavy mountainous terrain, in powerful snow. If you get stranded in such conditions, you'll be happy you can idle and produce heat for tens of hours. I have also driven as much as 11 hours round trip along a route that has no supercharger stations.

I have my eye on the Rav4 hybrid but only if it gets near to 40mpg. Most estimates are in the 33-36mpg range which, in my opinion would kill sales of that car.

I have read it, the Rav Hybrid or a HyRav, will be available in XLE and Limited trim.
Both with front and all wheel drive, supposedly, are available.

Could be, Rav's are not the most aero are they?

I test drove the new Ford F-150. It had the 2.7 V6 with EcoBoost. It felt great, like a solid brick of steel. But, it gets 26 mpg combined.

There was a lot of current F-150 owners in the line waiting to drive the new truck speaking of fuel mileage of their current trucks. One guy said he "lifted" his truck, now he's getting 10 in the city and 12 to 13 on the highway. One guy said 15 to 16 mpg on the highway ( I'm thinking these are gas guzzlers ).

When they heard 26 mpg, they were overjoyed. Really? One man's ceiling is another man's floor, you know they are happy to get 20 something mpg.

The point is driving a pickup, any pickup, is like driving a barn door down the road. Prius weighs less, is much more aero and gets great fuel mileage. I wouldn't try to pull a trailer or go to a big box store and get drywall either. I have had 12 bags of brown mulch in mine. It was way overweight. It felt horrible, it did move albeit slowly.

I backed it into my backyard and unloaded all that mulch. The Prius was a mess, I was a mess and the mulch got spread around the house. It still got 41 mpg. Never again. JTM

No, as long as I can afford it, I will have some sort of hybrid electric vehicle. Just my opinion, people. Who knows what the future may bring? Now Kanye says he's going to run for President in 2020. I am not kidding.
