Seems to high to be the Nav and doesn't look like the center dash either !

I did watch the videos at the end of the post. The crash testing with all the crap in the back of the vehicle flying forward.

From now on, I am going to make sure things are tied down.

 

More on safety.

The main -reason- I live in fear of a flat tyre is not changing it, it's the danger of exposing myself to the morons driving on the road while changing it!
BTW, I don't think all drivers are morons, though I do treat them as such for safety, it's just that when in traffic we are all reduced to the lowest common denominator!

When carrying -anything- in the hatch area I use bungie cord nets, hooked to the "D" rings on the floor. I also sometimes use the child seat hold-downs on the back of the rear seat. With the rear seat up they can work very well as tie-down points. Smaller items get tied -through- the bungie cord netting where possible.

If you carry a spare wheel/tyre in the back of your PIP ask your Toyota dealer for the tyre strap kit. It's designed to safely hold a full size wheel/tyre to the hatch floor and is the one supplied with all non-PIP models (I'm assuming you don't get it with a PIP).

So with that out of the way, perhaps we can return to the topic (which I forget).

 

I wonder if there are any new spy shots of Gen 4? I hate to call it 2016 because it is coming to market so late in the model year.

I bought and picked up my 2001 Pathfinder in June of 2000. September 2015 could, by some measures, be considered late for the 2016 model year, as nutty as that sounds.

 

I know, but what do you think? Is it going to debut in the US in September, too? Going by what has been posted here, we might not see Gen 4 until Jan.2016

True. I've bought early release models too but Sept./Oct are the traditional months of a new model release in the USA. Factories typically take a summer break from manufacturing in July for retooling with startups sometime in August.

 

We did expect Spring unveiling/Summer sales like Gen III in 2009.

 

I know Lee Jay. That's very late in Model Year terms. I ordered my '04 in Nov of '03. Finally, I got a card from Toyota saying order accepted, we are building the Prius as fast as we can.

My build date is 03 of 2004. Delivered on. April 15,2004. I let her drive it home, while I played with ALL the gadgets.

 

Could they do a half year model, like what was done before Toyota introduced the lastest Camry.

2014 and 1\2 it sounded weird but it all worked out.

 

Based on production start dates, guessing the first cars will be here last week of December.

 

I'm still struggling to believe the reported production start dates. The 2004 was announced on Oct 15th 2003, went on sale Oct 17th 2003, and I test drove one on Oct 21st 2003 in Colorado. Obviously there had been a production run far before announcement or there wouldn't have been cars in the middle of the US four days after announcement date (the dealer had had it available since the 19th).

I didn't pay attention to the g3 announcement or when cars were available for test drives, so I don't know if the same pattern played out there or not.

great videos tideland, looks like my tyre on the hatch floor up against the back seat won't be a problem. i don't see any way for it to fly up over the back seat and come all the way up front at coconut height. thanks!
