Spark plugs replacement - maybe a stupid question...

    You know - Merv is great, but he works on American Priuses - now we know for sure - European RHD can be done without taking the cowl out, a European LHD can not...

    I came across those in the shop one time, too. Now I can't remember what car. But it was sure nice to be able to flex them.

    I love his narration. But I always remove that bracket. That one screw only takes a couple seconds with the impact driver and saves worrying about hitting the windshield.

    As for draining the coolant for EGR removal: in the shop, time is money. We slide a big pan under the car to reduce cleanup time in case of spillage. Some of the guys use clamps on the hoses or put bolts in the ends off them to keep them from dribbling. I found that less than a cup of coolant dribbles out and ends up in the catch pan if I just pull the hoses. I keep them open end up till both ends are disconnected in case they might siphon out more coolant than just the hose contents. It's a simple matter to top it off when you're done and running the engine. It's probably going to need topping off anyway, no matter how careful you are.
