Maybe that is the monthly cost after the three years? It will have to prove its value to me by the end of the three years. Otherwise, adios. So far, the only thing I've found about it I like is the XM radio, and I have an idea that costs more than $5 per month by itself.
XM is $18/month, but they have cheaper packages at $10 and $15/month. The $10 all-music channel doesn't include Channel 23, which is a deal-breaker for me.
The Android app seems to be a (phone) battery hog... it's constantly searching for bluetooth connection with the Prius even when Bluetooth is turned off.
Do you mean when you have turned off Bluetooth on the phone? I wasn't aware of that. I do know that just about anything I do seems to use up battery time. I keep it plugged in when I'm in the car, just to keep a charge for when I get out! And unless I'm using maps, etc I turn off all the extras except Bluetooth.
Update: I loaded some music on a FAT32 flash drive, tested it by plugging it into my desktop PC, where it played back the music just fine. The car system gives different results at different times. Sometimes, it shows a disc spinning and says "loading" but never completes the job. At other times, it gives a message, "read error, entire device cannot be played," or something similar. However, I can go to "lists" and "browse" and find the music listed. Anyone else experience this?
It's killing my battery for sure. The app stays active "listening" all the time. It comes back on even after I force it to shut down with a task manager app.
I'm not sure about entune yet. It works fine with my iPhone but I get no sound with my wife's android. And since it's her daily driver I really need to get figured out.
